Angry Cashback or Rebate Incentive for HD F-150?

Well, looking at the Ford site, I see that they are now offering a $1500 cash rebate (or financing incentives) for new buyers. As a new purchaser, I must have just missed out on this cashback program. I didn't see the effective dates of the program mentioned.

Here is a portion of the text from their website:

"Two American Legends, One Sweet Deal

You know how people stare when you drive by? You know the feeling. The chrome. The black leather. The pure American muscle. Here’s your chance to get some of that attitude with a great deal on the 2000 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150.

If you want to own the baddest truck on the road, you can get $1500 cashback or Special Low Rate Financing with approved Ford Credit on the 2000 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150. We know you want it. So visit your Ford dealer to get it. And, no, tattoos are not included."

Edmonds doesn't have any info on rebates for the 2000 HD model. (None for the 2001 HD model either, for that matter!)

Talked to my local Ford dealer and the rebate is NEW as of the past few weeks to clear the decks for the 2001 models. So don't think you got it, guy. Perhaps, you got a discount, but not the cashback rebate referenced above. Also, there have been ongoing programs regarding low financing rates, but again, no actual cashbacks.

Thumbs up

Agrv8vn: That site you sent the url for is the *same* one from which I quoted in the original message and had my question about. I called the Ford North America Customer Relationship Center at (800) 392-3673 to get to the official word on this cashback offer. Turns out that certain regions *only* have the cashback program and mine (Iowa/Minnesota/etc) is not included. Maybe they've got an overstock of vehicles in certain regions? BTW, I did get a super deal on my truck, so I'm not a bit unhappy with that and even ccla's $4500 off doesn't make me feel bad about what I paid -- just wanted to make sure that all $$$ available were staying in my wallet.

ccla: $4500 off is a good deal, but not surprising -- the 2001 models are coming in January.

The sticker on the Harley F-150 is $32780 with sliding window and 6 disk CD player. After taking the $4500 off, it is down to $28280. (Invoice on this vehicle is $28650 and there is dealer holdback which is about 3% of MSRP, too.)

Ford is offering the $1500 rebate program only in certain parts of the country (as referenced above) and, perhaps, this is one of them. With that extra $1500 the dealership is doing all right.

Four months ago when I got mine, the dealer here wants $2800.00 over sticker...I went to the Internet... Negotiated with a Dealer in Florida also, drove my leased 98 Mark VIII seeing it was at the end of my lease.

Turned in the Mark, paid $ 25,821.01 and drove the HD over to relatives on Merritt Island spent a few days in the sun the shagged my *** back home.... Ahhh the life of a retired cop.... John from NC
