Has a crime been committed?
OK, I was at my local dealer getting my truck serviced. Their H-D F150 had just been returned from being on display at a nearby H-D store. I cringed as the techs were in the process of lowering it! by about 2-3 inches!!! and they still wanted to sell it as NEW!! Not that lowering it is a bad thing, but isnt that the buying customers choice???

I guess the buyer sees what he's getting, and shouldn't buy if he/she doesn't like the lowered treatment. I had my truck into a detailing shop and the guy said he'd lower it if HE had it! I guess there's alot of interest out there for a lower vehicle. I like it just fine where it is!

In your signature you state lighted door handles inside. What is that about? Aftermarket or OEM product? Mine is a 2000 Lariat 4x4 ORP and even though it has been awhile since I drove it after dark, I'm pretty sure there is no illumination in the doors. I would like lighted window switches as well.

lowering that HD F150 is no different than selling trucks w/ partial or full Roush, Regency or Western Hauler conversions.
it's okay as long as they tell the potential customer that they (the dealer) put the truck at that height and that it didn't come from the factory that way.

Harleyrider.....You dont have lighted window/lock switches???
as for the lighted door handles, it is a 'custom' job. I mounted a small green led in the handle itself. it shines into the 'cup' that is recessed into the door. Its just one of those 'looks neat' things. also did the same for the rear doors, making the handle easier to find. I could post some pics.
Ponysix8- I guess my biggest concern was that this was a limited production vehical in the first place. This particular dealership also carries 'Roush' trucks, etc. And IMHO, you can spend 1/3 the money and get the same effect (buy getting your own aftermarket ad-ons). the 'upgrade' for the roush pkg on a supercrew was $7500, seemed awfull pricy for an air dam, wheels, tires, muffler, and a sticker. But if one is willing to spend the money, thats their choice.

Green LED's are the most expensive there are. Where did you come across some and what type of housing did you put around them? My wifes Contour has green around her door handle's but I haven't looked to see if its a bulb or LED.

The led's are available at radio shack, for less than $3.00. They come with their own holder and about 3" of wire. Need to drill an oversize 1/4" hole for them. The drivers door handles were a bit of a trick, but with a little patients, it can be done. The rear doors are easy, exept for running the power wire through the small rubber hose, between the body and the door. I tapped into the same wire that lights the switches, which is also conneced to the dimmer circuit. I will try and get some pics, if I remember the camera.....
