Thumbs down Rear Axle

I'm looking for those of you that have a 3.55 rear and are unhappy about it. My dealer told me to get more info on people that have this rear and are unhappy with it. I preferred the 3.73 as originally advertised. Anybody out there?

If you read any Ford advertisement you will find a statement "Ford Division reserves the right to change product specifications at any time without incurring obligations".
My personal beleive is that you advertise something you should deliver. The only think that you can count on is that if the window sticker states something, it will be there, other wise there is a Federal Automobile Disclosure Act that protect consumers. The good thing is that the window sticker states nothing about the Tonneau cover and Ford is (at this time) still addressing the concern. All signs look as thou Ford will deliver on the Tonneau cover

We read the disclaimer by Ford. The only thing is, in our owner's manual it states that we have a 3.73 rear when we do not; on the parts microfilm at Ford [I work for Ford Parts Distribution]the rear end for Harley/Ford is listed with a 3.73 part number. Everything leans to the fact that we should have a 3.73 rear as advertised.

This is why my dealer asked me to get as many people with the 3.55 rear that are not happy with it. Then we can turn over the information to the district service representative and possibly get results.

The 3.73 is a better gear for towing. It keeps the engine closer to the RPM torque range so it's not lugging the engine.

Cool

If I had one,I certainly wouldn't tow anything with it. I would think people would want a 3.73 just for the acceleration difference,,,,,,98
