Ford Racing Boost Gauge (Autometer

QUESTION: For a stock 2002 Harley F150. What kind of boost reading should I be getting on the vacuum/boost gauge?

Had some of the vacuum hoses replaced. Checked it before I left dealer and it was reading 10 (VACUUM). Mechanic looked at it and did something, then it read 0 - 4 lbs (BOOST).

Mechanic indicated it might be the EGR dump valve is acting up. Vacuum/Boost gauge is reading from 10 - 0 (VACCUM).

Should it be reading 0 - 4lbs boost for stock harley?

Thanks for any help!

It should read about 20-15 lbs vacuum at idle. If it's stock, when you get on the throttle it will go up to about 7 lbs.

I just dropped the truck at the dealer this morning, mechanice thinks it is the dump valve.

Could you tell me where the hoses go that leave the "T" where the boost gauge line attaches?

i.e.

I am not convinced the dealer has it put back together correctly. I really appreciate your reply and any info you can provide regarding where the hoses go from the T.

Thanks again!

flyarmy.

FYI.... I just got it back from the dealer. All is well. it now reads 20hg vacuum <---> 5lbs boost... just as you said.

They found a bad hose somewhere....

Thanks to all for the replies!
