L perf. compared to HD

I had a really nice 03 L DSG w/ predator and intake and I absolutely loved my truck, right up until my brother wrecked it and State Farm had to pay out 19K. OUCH

I've had a new truck for a while but it's diesel and loud and slow and rough...

What mods to a Harley 02 or 03 would be necessary to get it moving at the same performance as my previous L?

I am guessing a 4lb pulley and chip with intake????

Please give me some suggestions before I run out and get a Harley truck, I want the same sort of exciting and smooth ride my L had.

Thanks!

I have the edge w/attitude monitor adds 125 hp and 335ft/lbs of twist. Intake and 4 inch exhaust all the way back. It has the LLY diesel. Propane is an extra fuel and doesnt add that much. N2O is used a lot to clean up the black smoke. Tranny upgrade from suncoast runs close to 4 grand. Too much money to get that lard *** movin. Thedieselplace has all of that kind of info, I would appreciate some info on the HD/L comparo.

Thanks

If you like the Harleys for the extra room I think you're on the right track with the pulley, tuner, and intake to start. Just don't line up with any Lightnings with a similar setup.

I traded my 00L for a 02HD and it felt like a pig when I first got it. I added a 8lb L lower pulley (6lbs on HD) CAI and got a good burn on my chip and the HD was much quicker than my 00L on stock boost + bolt-on's. Follow the same theory as with the L when it comes to mods. The 02-03 HD is a very nice platform to mod and you get to have 4 drs and creature comforts the L doesn't have. Good luck with your decision.

Equal mods on the trucks , the HD will never be able to accelerate, handle or brake like a Lightning.
Something to do with physics
That being said, the HD is a beautiful truck. Its just in a different weight class

its only 600 lbs different. Right?

I agree with the physics, that's why there are bolt on's!

BUT my question was "what would I need to do to get the 03 HD running faster than an 03 L (being that the L had a predator and intake only).?

Porting the Eaton or adding a Kenne Bell and the other goodies will get you where you want to be. FVTB would give some launch ablity and a E-fan will free up some more ponies.
