Thermostat question

160 or 170?

What brand? Autozone generic or brand name?

Where to buy? Autozone generic or vendor supply?

Simple questions. Need info and opinions please.

Thanks.

I just ordered a stock OEM thermostat from fordpartsonline.com for $8.84

I'm not about to trust an autozone or aftermarket generic thermostat with the safety and health of my aluminum heads, heh.

So would droping down to a 170 or a 160 even be worth doing? I noticed that a lot of the Lightning guys have changed theirs out. I really don't see much gain in 10 degrees, but a 20 degree difference might make a difference. Just trying to come up with a couple of things that would enhance performance, yet be cheap. It was just a thought.
