That's good news.

As you already know, I tend to keep "pushing the envelope" when it comes to asking questions, so I have to ask this:

All trucks are not same. If your's sits level, what others can expect +/- from that position?

Would offering of 3 different drops (2.5", 2.75", 3") improve possibility of buyer getting exactly what he/she wants and be feasible for you?

Are different shims needed?

Thanks!

I, for one, would be interested in shims with different angles. It would allow for that "fine tuning" of the job when trying address any driveline vibration or whatever.

I would be also interested to see more variety in drop range covered (like 2", 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, and 3) so I can "fine tune" drop to my liking. Or, if having them premade is too much for you, have a way to "custom order" drop while retaining all quality and good looks of ones that are "standard" (as long as it is not too expensive compared to standard ones).

Thanks!

That would be pretty tough to do, since with the belltech shackles, i've heard guys getting drops as little as 1.25" to a full 2" drop from them....all measuriing by the same techniquies. I got 1.75" drop out of my 2" shackles, so it would be really tough to make shackle sizes within 1/4" of another shackle for an exact size drop.

Exactly my point. Considering life is like a box of shackles, you never know how much you gonna get, so I was trying to point out that fact that his HD is level does not mean mine will achieve same to a T.

I had more like this in mind: You buy shackles that are advertised as 2" drop. You install them, let it setlle, measure it, eye it, and decide are you happy. Lets say it would take another 0.66" to make it just the way you want it. You round that up and say "I need 0.5" more of a drop." So you order another set that is marketed as 2.5" drop, take old ones off, put new ones on, and sell old ones to someone, and you are free to later repeat the process if you want to. I think there are benefits of at least one more "step" in between 2" and 3".

Go to this link to see the measurements I am at after 2" Belltech shakles. There is a 1 and 1/4" difference. I am believing the 3" shakles would work for me.

demastro at NHTOC is putting his JLP 3'' drop shackles on this weekend.

what i really would like is somebody who had the belltech 2" then upgraded to the JLP 3" and has pics of the difference. I heard from a few L guys its only a 1/2" difference,, so only a true 2 1/4" drop

i'll transfer the pics over here though if he doesn't after he puts them in

Hey guys

I don't make it back here very often anymore. So far the truck has settled 2 1/2-inches. Just had my tonneau installed so perhaps the extra weight will help level it out.

If not, that very slight rake is still nice. If it does drop even, I'll probably drop the front an inch in the future.

Looks way better than stock. If I have time, I'll try and get some better pictures up.
