just becareful with the dealer repainting stuff. sometimes if its just a litte defect, you are better off leaving it alone cuz they can sometimes be a butcher on the paint. i had my passenger door repainted cuz of a defect and it was keyed and now that panel is filled with orange peel

anyway, congrats on the HD!!!! looks awsome!
i love that silver!

join the HD registry when you get a chance...we need more 2tones over there

a set of L tails would look sweet on the silver!!!

Guys, there is a $2000 rebate that has been in effect for over three weeks. The rebate runs until March 3rd.

Sweet truck Jeff, when are you going to pull that Carey Paul sticker off?

Guys, I'm new on the block for this message board (just signed up). Have a 01 HD w/ a few mild mods. Have been eyeballing the 02's since they came out because of the supercharge. Glad I waited. When I saw the 03 with two tone paint, had to have one. Ordered it on Monday. Started cruising the internet to find more info. on them and found this site. Glad I did, got the mod bug bad now and haven't even gotten it yet. Got min on the D plan for $34,000. Thought it was an awsome deal until I saw this thread. I'm gonna have to go back and see about this rebate. Did you get all the bells and whistles?

No kidding... get this... I got the call this AM that the truck came in. When I got there, there were a bunch of people checking it out in the showroom. I went over to her and started my inspection. The Carey Paul dealer sticker wasn't on the truck. When the truck came back from detail, it was on there...

How do I get it off?

The paint defect is on two panels, the drivers-side door and the passenger-side rear door. Also, there is a noticable ridge where the two colors meet UNDER the pinstripe. It's like the black is thicker than the silver. Where the two colors meet (overlap), there's a VERY noticable bump. With the stripe over it, it looks like an air bubble all the way down the stripe...

and btw - the dealer said they won't fix the paint.

My deal was negotiated before the rebate info was announced... They were going to let me out the door without telling me about the rebate.... I made sure I mentioned that I saw program #1222.

Jeff, once we get past this cold spell, the sticker will just peel off. Don’t try it now, as the vinyl is frozen, and it will just break.

Ford will warranty your paint, as there have been issues with the two-tone trucks. My 02 has very severe acid rain damage, and it looks like Ford is going to pay for a repaint.

I gave up my '01 #619 for an '03 #1682... I'm very happy with the two-tone. I bought an '01 cuz I thought there would be just a few like it on the road... I saw a ton! Now having the '03 two-tone, I'm hoping it will be more rare than the black.... but I know it's just another production truck... "limited production" but production none-the-less...

Oh - that power rear window is SWANKY!

I'm not sure how you pulled that price off, but that's a smoking deal. It makes me want to get an 03 to go with my 02. Regardless of the price, that's a sweet truck...
