No kidding... get this... I got the call this AM that the truck came in. When I got there, there were a bunch of people checking it out in the showroom. I went over to her and started my inspection. The Carey Paul dealer sticker wasn't on the truck. When the truck came back from detail, it was on there...

How do I get it off?

The paint defect is on two panels, the drivers-side door and the passenger-side rear door. Also, there is a noticable ridge where the two colors meet UNDER the pinstripe. It's like the black is thicker than the silver. Where the two colors meet (overlap), there's a VERY noticable bump. With the stripe over it, it looks like an air bubble all the way down the stripe...

and btw - the dealer said they won't fix the paint.

First-To get the dealer sticker off, you can take a regular blow dryer and heat the sticker and start pulling an edge. Continue heating and pulling and the sticker will come off easily usually with no glue residue. If you have glue left, the best product I have found to remove it is goo-gone.

Second-Why will the dealer not fix the paint? If it is a factory defect, it is covered under warranty. My 01 has a defect and the dealer told me to bring it back and they would fix it and guarantee it for life...
I would pass on the deal if the dealer was that snobby and go find one somewhere else.

Third-When the 03 were starting to be posted on the board with pics, I didn't like the two tone at all. But now, I like it better. I just don't like the 450.00 for the two tone paint that Ford adds. But getting an 03 for 32 something is awesome. I assume that included the 2000.00 rebate that is currently going on in our area.

If he's talking about the lightning rims looking better than the Harley rims, I strongly disagree. The only Lightning rim that I have seen that I liked was one that had been chromed.

Wow, that looks really nice. I sold my '01 Harley and currently have '02 King Ranch (which I actually use as a truck, hauling loads of rocks and other stuff). My landscaping and home improvement projects don't ever seem to end so I probably can't justify moving back to Harley for a long time. The scuff marks on my tires right now alone would mean some trashed rims on a Harley.

good to hear from you, Chaean. It's been a long time!... you remember my '01... I hauled all the lumber and materials to build my garage with it... I trashed my bedrug in the process, but what the hell, right?

I'm going today to put in my stereo equipment from my '01. The amp, door speakers, kicks and sub will survive for another day of thumpin' TOOL and Pantera...

WE need to get another Varsity trip together sometime....

Jeff

Whew! I was beginning to think I was the only one in Atlanta with the 2 tone. Let me know about the Varsity meet, I'll join ya.

No jokes about the license tag please, I'm still lickin my wounds.
