Have a nice Day!

Well the only thing I can say is, good luck getting the information you want. I'm sure somebody is willing to give up the information everybody is wanting to know. But there is one thing that still boggles my mind. A SALESPERSON told somebody it was a Lightning engine. Hmm.... I don't know about you, but I personally never met an honest salesperson. I would trust a salesperson farther than I could
***** them. Plus I never thought once since I heard Ford was going to put a Supercharged engine in an HD that it would be the same as the Lightning. Wouldn't make sense. It would hurt the Lightning market.

ROFLMAO! You gotta love that attitude!

Which made me realize: Why we are not hearing from any of L tuners that are (re)building engines for some of the HD pople around here? They should know at least partial truth (limited by number of engines they have opened), they have personally seen innards of both HD and L engines. Dave Enders is one of guys getting his engine rebuilt, correct? CajunCobra has one open and on surgical table of his service. Somebody mentioned at least one L tuner saw HD engine with 4 or 5 rods all over the place. Maybe they can pitch in some info (even though that might not prove anything).

Originally posted by ken800 I am 99.99% sure that this is a waste of time caused by different part numbers and poor documentation on Ford's part.
I tend to be kind of a guy that doesn't believe either one or the other until I see it with my very own eyes. It surprises me though that we did not hear a single word from Ford, even though they are watching. This (to confirm) should not be so hard for them to do if this is nothing but a storm in a teacup. If they are using nothing but L engines with L internals in production of HDs confirming that should be zero liability statement for them. Why they would let this go on if it takes so little effort to defuse it?

Please notice that Ford rep did not mention with a single word that it is an actual L engine. All he mentioned is that HP differences are coming from different pulley setups. Nothing you can hang your coat on.

Originally posted by ken800 I got my information back and I am not going to post his exact words at his request, so le me put it this way: I am convinced it is the same motor and that any differences in part numbers are due to localities, castings, suppliers, etc., not because they are in fact different parts.
With all due respect to both of you and him, but legal term for this is "hearsay" because it will not assure that I will get L engine if I ever need one.

Originally posted by ken800 Good luck getting a statement... I'd love to see it, but I know the deal now and even he couldn't get me a statement and he works inside that behemoth of a company.
Shouldn't stop us from trying. It should not be a problem getting if there is no problem at all, correct?
