Premium unleaded gas up north??
I have a question for those of you who have a Harley up North. I know in Austin and San Antonio TX, premium unleaded is 93 octane. Premium unleaded in West Texas, up to Colorado I know is 89-90 octane. Does that present an issue for you guys? Do your trucks ping because of the low octane. When I took my Durango RT up to Colorado, I could notice the performance difference using 89-90 octane, then on my home when I got to the DFW area and pumped 93 octane I could really tell. I really want to take my truck out to Lubbock to see my brother and to Colorado Springs, but dont want to risk detonation. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated, thanks.

Ok, when I lived up in Wisconsin and was into the snowmobile scene as well as Harleys, I used some stuff made by "Klotz" called Nitro. It is Nitromethane in a bottle. This stuff is awesome. I used it in my old Harley Sportster as well as my snowmobile. Anyone here ever try it? This stuff REALLY does add octane. It not only has Nitromethane in it, but it also has Koolinol which lowers the cylinder temps. ![thumbsup](https://www.f150online.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
BTW it works so good that many "Sanctioned" race tracks don't allow it because it provides an unfair advantage to those who don't have it.
