Thumbs up Sylvania super stars

I installed the new lights a few days ago and have been waiting to post.

Yesterday was the first day that I got to drive with them a night. I have to say, They are great!!! Before I would have to have the fog lights on to take up the slack of the head lights, but not now.

I have to say that I would recommend these to ALL of my HD brothers.

Oh and just in case you are wondering price, I got them for $19.95 per bulb. I also got a REBATE of $10 for buying a set!!! (Mail in rebate)

So check it out!!

Let me know where you bought them from so I can order mine. Thanks. I've been waiting to see where everybody is getting the best price on them.

I went to Auto Zone. You can get them at any auto parts store.

Just remember not to pay more than $19.95 and ask for the rebate form

how much of a rebate is there on these lights? That would be best way to get them real cheap, I'll have to go check that out tomorrow.

hmm, so it was 20 bucks per bulb, AND then a 10 dollar rebate after that? so it was only 30 bucks total? (20+20-10?)

hmmm....i wonder if i could get a set for 20 bucks and use my address for the mail in rebate for one set, and my brothers address for the other set, who just happens to live next door to me heck, for 20 bucks for the whole set i can't beat that!
now to find an autozone around here...all we've got is crappy Pepboys who carry nothing

Thumbs up

Crockett,

I've been thinkin' about SSs for a while but didn't know if the "bang" would be worth about $60! (I've only seen 'em for $29.95/ea. around here) Based on what you say ... I guess $30 is "workable". Thanks for the heads-up on the price and rebate!

Thumbs up eBay

I picked mine up on eBay...35.00 plus 4.00 shipping made 39, then the 10.00 rebate, so in effect, you could get them just as cheaply at the store, if you can find them.......Rube

I have heard nothing but good things about the sylvania silverstars. Definately a nice substitute compared to the $500 HID kit which you can't even use with your badass HD headlights. I will be picking some up eventually. Take some pics!

I put the 9007's and 9005's in the other day.

Let me say, Ford was on crack when they built my truck. On my left headlight, the outter bracket release thinger was rammed in there. I couldnt unlock it until i got a prybar and block of wood to leverage the leveler up. Bam, it finally unlocks.. The otherside wasnt so bad. While trying to put the headlights back in, my adjustments got all out of whack. Now it looks as if im going to take it in to get it re-aimed

Anyone else have a prob with their aiming being off after installing them?

What is the part # on the right set? I bought a set tonight but they are 9004's, and after reading that last post, I'm not sure if I bought the right set or not. In the computer all they showed at AZ was the $599 HID kit. Help.

yup, its 9007 for the headlights.

the fogs on the HD's are H1, but unfortunately sylvania doesn't make anything in a H1 size, so we either need to all email them and complain so maybe they will decide to make them, or need to start testing out different brands for the fog bulbs, cuz i know some of them tend to blow, like the PIAA's tek had and melted his fogs
can't have white headlights and yellow fogs now can we?

Flyin ****,

When I installed mine, I only had to take the left headlight assemmbly out to change the bulb. On the right side I was able to just change it from the back.

As you said, the left seems to need aiming afterwards. I was able to put it back easily and with all my best I think it's properly aligned. But yet when I drive it at night seems like the left kind hits 'high'.

Does anyone know how much a dealer would charge for aiming? I don't want to play around with mine because I read somewhere they use some device to aim headlights.
