The coolant tank has another bolt (besides the one on the top under the cowel cover), I think it's down below the tank next to the radiator. You'll also have to remove the overflow hose to the coolant tank to remove it.

You can also take the corner lense out. There's one bolt on the top that you take out and it slides out, then you can get hold of the headlight lense to get it out too.

Wink Silverstars installed!

Hey guys,
I am so glad that I read this thread about the installation of the bulbs! Anyone who has put their headlights back in without removing the corner lights must have the patience of a saint!
I would have to say the headlight mounting system is a little over engineered/complicted but I just drove the truck tonight and love the new brightness. This is a great bang for the buck. Let's hope that Sylvania gets those H-1's in production for the driving lamps.
Yo,
Bart

I just installed mine tonight as well and let me say, the drivers side can be a major pita! I did like crocket59 said, and took the two coolant tank bolts out and pushed it back far enough that I could get my hand in there. It still was a pain but was manageable after that.

After all was said and done, it is a cleaner white light and it definitely brightens up the road as stated above. The passenger side was so easy after doing the driver's side that it wasn't even funny. Definitely a worth while mod.

Btw, 2 of my friends watched me do this (ok 1 held the flashlight ) and they were like " and why are you doing this again? What was wrong with the orginal bulbs?" Some people will never understand what modding is ....

I did mine last week by removing the collant tank. Have the cuts to prove it. Definately a worthwhile mod

Don't get your hopes up to much, remember it is an inexpensive mod and you get what you pay for. They definately make some difference, but anything is an improvement over the stock. Also, do the passenger side first, because if you do the drivers side first, your hands will be too damn sore to do the other.
