PICS!- Philly Auto Show 2003

The show was okay. better than last year, but still could be ALOT better. They need more concepts, seems philly gets all of last years concepts from detroit. They shouldn't have 3 shows going on at the same time in the country, and have them like a week apart so the concepts can travel to all the shows.

Anyway, i thought for sure ford's display would be pretty good since it is their 100th anniv. and all. but i was wrong! NO cobra, NO svt focus, NO lightning, NO HARLEY!!!!!!!!!!!! (not even a 02. i understood last year cuz the 02's weren't out yet for sale, but the 03's have been out for over a month now, and they still didn't have one), NO gt40 concept, NO explorer/sport/sportracs, NO expys, NO tonka truck, they did have one excursion, 2 stangs, a few focuses, minivan, one superduty, Tbird, a Heritage F150, 2 rangers, only 1 04 F150 that you couldn't even get near, and the biggest shock was they had the ford 49 concept. even though it was shown like 2 years ago at detroit, it was probably the nicest piece at the show.

anyway, here's the pics. too many to post. there's 81 of them, so check em out. hopefully all the time resizing and uploading them will be worth it and you guys will like em.

yeah, the GT40 was pretty sweet. too bad they didn't have a 03 to go along with the old one

its only 10 bucks to get in, and parking was like 6 bucks like 3 or 4 blocks away in a lot. it was worth it, just don't take your hd

I'll take my HD if they let me park inside the show. Then I'm allowed to rope it off so nobody can touch it.

thats what i said to the ford rep. LoL

i asked him where the 03 HD was, and he said one never came in. I asked if next time i could bring my HD in and park it up on the big roped off turntable so nobody could touch it, and then they'd have a HD at the show

I'd love to do an indoors show sometime, just not sure if i should though with the black paint and indoor lights, that can show every little defect and swirl. still be fun to do though sometime. LoL

Poor Ford Display

I know what you mean about the Ford display. They had a black 03 Harley there, literally the first vehicle you see as you walk in doors...and it was locked!

There were no Lightnings, Cobras or any SVT vehicle here either. I was surprised that they didn't even have the Heritage Edition F150 to commemorate the 100 years.

New F150 looks nice though. Saw a King Ranch with the bucket seats in the back with a center console. Looked nice. I have only seen the 60/40 before.

Yeah, I haven't been too impressed with the new car shows in the last few years. They usually have noone around that knows anything and the cars are usually locked up.

As far as indoor shows, my cousin is entered into the Oakland Hotrod and Roadster show in Feb which is indoors. He has to build a booth and have special signs outlining his work and everything. He says it's pretty political but he has been wanting to do it.

BTW, he has an F250 V10 dualie that is completely tricked out with a wicked paint job, bagged, awesome entertainment system, etc.

I'll try to get some pics and post in the future. I don't get to see him very often.
