Help Installing Battery

I got a Optima Yellow Top Dry Cycle Battery for Christmas and finally got some free time to put it in. Anyways the ford factory battery is huge and the yellow top doues not fit snug on the battery shelf. The battery is to small.

Has anyone installed one of these batteries on these trucks and know a trick to get it to fit better. Right know I just cut a piecs of a 2x4 and wedged that in there to kepp the battery from sliding. I figured I would ask to see if anyone has any good ideas. Thanks

You can buy battery ties (or straps) from most auto supply stores (Pep Boys, JCWhitney).

I had the same problem, I took some small thin pieces of wood and stuck in there. No problems yet!!

Thanks for the replies. I would love to solve the problem by simpling puting another $180 battery there but my wallet doesn't think it is a good idea. (Stupid Wallet) I think I am going to keep using the wood till I can look into finding some battery ties. Thanks.
