So then i'm guessing you don't have a HD? i just assumed so by your screen name

or do you mean you want a black grille that matches the factory lower one?

or do you want a chrome grille that matches the same bar width as the factory black lower one

Hmmm... well that's a first.
Maybe a Crown Vic grill then paint it black?

If you really want a black upper grille to match the '02 lower ... the closest thing to a match would be an '00 or '01 H-D grille painted or (preferably) powder coated black.

Why do you want to do that? Just seems to "de-HD-ize" it! IMO.

oops, i forgot the dash between the 2 j's

anyway, so thats why i didn't understand what you were asking. you're the 1st who i've ever seen who wanted to put a black grille on the top. it'll look good though, i was wondering how long until somebody would do that. post pics if you do it though. it'll look really stealth and badazz

your best chances though of it looking the best, rather than getting a 00 style grille and painting it (although that would still work...powder coating wouldn't though cuz they are plastic), is getting a black billet grille. i know a few places sell them, just not sure of the names (truckperformance.com might have one, or steel horse, but not sure) make a new post in the appearance section and i'm sure somebody can help you.

can't wait to see pics, definately be a more unique mod!

If I'm not mistaken, I thought that I had seen the STX f-150's with the black quasi-billet grill that would match your lower grill. Basically it is the same grill that came on the 00 and 01 HD's witout the chrome. If anyone has pictures of what the grill on the STX looks like, post them. If what I thought I saw is correct that would make an easy switch for you. All you would need to do is switch out the grill inserts. Good Luck!

now that you say something andreir, i do kind of remember that grille on the 2003 STX in the ford brochure for the 03 trucks. i just searched the net and ford's site for it, but couldn't find anything. i'll look for my brochure upstairs tomorrow and see for sure
