I found this posted in the L forum. I thought some of you guys may be interested. This pan is deeper than the 4x4 pan, and a whole lot prettier. Of course it cost's a bit more, but we didn't buy these trucks to be economy minded did we?...

Yeah, I was wondering how much it hangs down. I plan to do some measuring before I get one, especially since it's cast. One good bump, and you dump ALL your fluid. Not good for the tranny, and it might supply a wild ride if all that fluid gets under the tires before you get shut down...

Here's a B&M pan. It doesn't look quit as good as the Ford Racing pan, but the drain plug doesn't hang down either. It still looks pretty low though...

 

There isn't a clearance problem with either the B&M or the Ford Racing deep sump tranny pans. Both have a 2 qt. greater capacity verse stock and a 1 qt. greater capacity verse the Ford steel 4x4 deep pan. Both have the drain plug are cast finned aluminum for quicker fluid cool downs. LFP ships both with the proper filter. Both come with new hardware. Only B&M sends a new cork gasket. Here are my cost;
Steel Ford 4x4............................$49.00 with filter
B&M............................................$16 9.00 with filter
Ford Racing................................$199.00 with filter
Ford racing version is not yet on my website.
