Congrats on your new truck!!!
A little advice...... You may want to wait until spring to start with the mods, since the weather is cold. If you do decide to Mod now make sure that your chip is tuned for cold weather. If it is not you may run too lean and burn your engine up really quick. Check out the supportting vendors section, you may want to e-mail one to find out what plugs to use with a 6# pulley. Good Luck

Congrats haveight!
I noticed that you will be using a Diablo chip from QMP; who is QMP? Some of the guys here have had unfortunate results from "unknown" Diablo tuners. Be very careful on who you choose to tune your new baby.

Welcome to the group! Some good advice on here... some entertaining hot air too

Advice? Save your $200 or so for the CAI and get a Factory Tech valve body with it. Just get a K&N and do the airbox mod... I run IT-22's (I think... everything is written down at work), work great. Pulled several out the other day after 8000 miles of 13+ lbs of boost, multiple trips towing 5000-8000 lbs, 15 or so passes at the strip--looked like new

From the factory, after a couple of hard runs with full throttle upshifts the shifts become... "sluggish". Not good if you've got mods (i.e.--more boost). The Factory Tech valve body firms up the shifts and speeds them up dramatically. Faster, firmer shifts mean less heat in the tranny which means longer life. Absolutely love mine... about $200 from Lightning Force Performance. Install it with a new 4X4 trans pan (holds more fluid and has a drain plug) F81Z-7A194-BA (about $35 at your local Ford parts counter), about 8 qts of Mercon with a Deutch TF325 filter from Autozone (about a third the price of the Ford filter and just as good).
You won't regret it...
You can firm up and speed up the shifts with a computer chip or line valve mod... my advice is to have them leave the transmission tuning alone and do it with the valve body--the chips and line mod do it by significantly raising line pressure... can create some problems.

Thanks for the info Slingshot, but is this something that is easily done from someone that knows nothing about trannies? Or something the dealership could do for a small fee? Do have a writeup of this mod? Thanks in adavnce.
Hey guys thanks for the info my # 01894 that s what the badge in the truck says. I made my intake for like $60 including the filter I will have dyno results shortly. and pics of my new baby. QMP is also known as LS1 motorsports, he is a cool guy in southern IN, I don't want to violate any posting rules so I won't say anymore about him or his company he is helping to tune my 03 as he has one 2
