New HD 03' Poster here

Just wanted to say hello. I just bought a silver and black HD and I'm in love. Any recommendations for a cover for the bed? I'd prefer a soft cover. Thanks and I look forward to reading future and past posts.

Welcome!

Josh (Harley#356) will fill you in on all the mods, or use the search function and you'll come across much info that was previously discussed on this board.

of course send me a picture of your truck with the build #, your name and state as well as your web site/photo album address and I'll put it up on the registry: www.SVTregistry.com/harley-davidson/

later,
--Russ

welcome to the site and congrats on the new HD!!! Post pics up when you get a chance. Can't wait to see em. can never have enough pics of HD's. LoL

anyway, i did a big thread on different tonneau cover choices a few days ago. not many soft covers in there, but there are a few, and tons of hard tonneaus and roll type covers
here's the link

i also did a thread on aftermarket hoods

and headlights

and taillights

Thanks guys for the quick reply, I’m just sorry I haven’t gotten back as quick. Tis the season ya know!

Thanks for the registry Russ. I plan on registering to your site but is there anything else to it beside seeing other HD trucks and the obvious camaraderie? I’m not one to normally show off but I’m very proud of my truck and would like others to see it. Looks like it might be the first black and silver two tone on the site. Cool!

Josh, thank you for the links and info. I can tell I’m with the big boys here. I may go with the soft cover that rolls back. I bought the truck with all the options so I don’t think I want to do too much mods with it but who knows, you guys might have me adding a bit more. I’m not sure how to post a pic on a post but I did put one in the gallery under my name so I hope you get a chance to check it out.

Thanks again guys and take care,
HDDoug

Congrats on your new edition and welcome to the site. I must admit I did not like that 2 tone when I first saw the pics but the more I see it the more I like it.

Watch out for that mod bug now!!

That is one beautiful truck. I agree, the two-tone is looking better and better each time I see one.

The Lightning tails would look awesome. It'll smooth out the overall look.

i agree, a set of L tails will look soooo sweet on that truck!!! who's gonna be the 1st to do it?

i gotta admit, i thought i'd always like the black better, and so far on every year i have, but that two toned, i don't know what it is, but it catches my eye every time
i think i actually like it better over black for the 03's stock vs stock

just a little fyi, the two toned turns down like that by the front fenders cuz its supposed to give the outline of a cycle gas tank. kinda hard to picture, but you can sort of see their point

Okay, showing my ignorance. What are L tails? And can you tell me how to attach a picture onto your post? That's very cool.

2veloce, I live in the Brookhaven area near Clairemont and Buford hwy.

L tails = SVT Lightning tail lights, the clear lights with a round red lense inside, the Toyota Altezza style imported directly from Japan thru Lexus IS series.

to attach a picture either click the "IMG" button in the vB code section on the reply screen directly below the Message Icons... or type the code yourself using these tags: [img] [/img]
