look what i got today!!!




LoL!, not really, i wish though! LoL! I had to go out to the dealer to see my friend who works there about the foglights, and i saw the 03 parked across the street in their other lot. i'm suprised it wasn't in the showroom though. Anyway, they just gave me the keys and said go check it out. Damn is that thing sweet to see in person!!! :drool



The lower valance isn't as bad looking in person as it is in the pics, although, not sure yet on the two toned. but on black its not too bad. still like the old style better though

 

this is what i don't like about it most. its just all flat and the tiny little grille. if that sloped in more and a bigger lower grille it would look alot better



if you can't read that, its 38545 and its not even loaded. No slider rear window, but it has the heated back glass (is that standard or an option?)



the pinstripe will match nicely with a set of L tails!

 

again, the pics do it no justice. the pinstripe looks alot better in person and fits the truck nicely

the leather looks white in the pics, but its really more of a light gray. ligher than the 02's gray. i think they called it silver on the ford site.
the inside doors look really really weird to me though, cuz they are about 8" shorter than my 00HD's doors so everything is like squished in, and all those buttons really clutters it up

 

this door looks naked with only 1 button :lol




i love that console!!! if it weren't for the 00 seats having armrests, i'd have that console on order right now :lol




seats looked really supportive, and the seat emblem, even though it doesn't have any writing on it, looks really good in person. a nice subtle touch, kind of like how the 00's seats were embossed with a HD logo instead of an emblem

 

the back seats look weird to me too. i guess cuz i'm not used to looking in a screw. they just look really long, but too skinny in the middle. I think the truck would look 10x's better inside if it had a rear bench back there



awsome console lid



unfortuantely the blower looked better in the pics than in person. i guess its cuz the texture of the metal. the s/c itself looks good, but the texured intake doesn't look all that great. still alot better than the gray though IMO, and a heck of alot better than none at all :lol

 

why did they change the glovebox handle from the small contoured one to that big ugly boxy one?



Anyway, the truck looked awsome! its at Ace Ford in woodbury NJ if anybody is interested. You better get there fast though, cuz that thing won't sit there long at all. i'm suprised it even hit the lot and wasn't already ordered from somebody!

How would you compare it (personally) to the 02s?

 

Yah know, Me thinks the black paint on the supercharger adds some hp, yah think?

 

i pulled that trick last year, so i didn't think the guys would let it fly again this year. LoL! I would never trade my 00 though, only add to the collection. LoL

Anyway, as to how i'd compart it to the 02? Well i didn't get to drive the 03, it was sandwiched in the lot so it would have taken a while just to get it out, but i'm sure the ride is pretty much the same. Can't really speak for the seats either, but both the 02 and 03 had alot more bolstering than my 00 does. WHen my buddy gets back from vacation, since he has a 02 and works at the dealer, if the 03 is still there i'll see if we can line up my 00, his 02, and the dealerships 03 together for some pics. too bad we don't have a 01 around here.

anyway, enginecompartments, the 03 wins. the black blower makes it more unique over the L. and if those blower ridges were polished it would look really sweet!

Pinstriping- the 03 wins again. i do like the flames better personally, but since they were just a sticker, it looks kind of cheap for being on such an expensive truck. the straight line pinstripe doesn't really show as much edge as all the curves on the flames

Overall appearance, like 1st impression,its close but i think the 02's got it with the flames and all that. Although, haven't seen a two toned yet, and i'm dieing too. the stuipd dealer cancelled their order for one

Interior, its a toss up. I like the 03's seats better with the silver/black combo and the way its stiched, and the steering wheel thats two toned. but like the 02's flamed consoles a little more, and hate the glovebox on the 03 with that boxy handle. Not a big detail, but i noticed it at 1st glance. The 03's consoles are just so big with no stich design on them and only an emblem. Although i would say a flamed themed 03 would be overkill

Emblems- the 03's are by far the best IMO. the 100th anniversary and the wings and all that with the HD logo makes it more harleyish, and looks awsome. you 02 guys can update them too for 60 bucks a piece. lol

But don't get me wrong, i'd do just about anything to get one of each of these trucks, and trying to pick the best one is like trying to pick which victoria's secret model i think is the hottest (even though we all know its adriana lima LoL!, or is that Heidi Klum...or Laetitia Casta...or Gisele? LoL! see what i mean!)They all have their perks, and they all have their downfalls....the trucks that is. LoL!

If i could custom design my own HD, it would be the 00 body style (i love the flareside, just adds more character to the truck), the 03 engine and engine compartment, the 02/03 headlights, the 02 pinstripes, and then for the interior, it would be the 01 front seats with a 03 stitch pattern (i like the all black interiors), 02 consoles, but setup like the 00 is with a rear bench seat, and then 03 style emblems. LoL. now thats not asking too much is it? LoL!

its the same with the HD's. there are no ugly ones

It looks like the '03 HD seats are flatter (less bolstered) than the '01 and '02 HD's. I went to look at them and they looked kinda 'flat'.
