Finally found the previous owner and talked with him. He didn't know of the top of his head and he never got a plaque. He said he was going to look to see if it was on any of his paperwork that came with the truck. He did say he bought it in May of '00 in the Mass South Shore. He gave me the dealers info as back up.


I am hell bent on finding this out know. I feel like CSI.

I am pumped!!!! The guy who had the truck before me did not find the number. But, he asked his son (who he had baught the truck for) and got the info. The build number is 2020. He gave me the kid's email to see if I could buy the plaque from him.

The guy wasn't sure if his son was on this site or not but if the owner of a DSG '02 from Athol MA is out there I'm the one emailing you for the plaque.

Oh yeah thanks to the guy for responding to my calls so quickly.

 

awsome! if he doesn't want to sell the plaque, at least ask him if he can snap a pic of it just so you can have it.

then try calling alan pinter. he can get you a plaque (it won't be the 00 style plaque, it'll be the 01 style, but still cool) and you can tell him all what info to get engraved on it. just tell him your situation that you bought the truck used and found out from the original owner what the build# and production date was, and he can probably get you a plaque made up, and with your name on it too
