Well I can get the same interest rate that FORD is offering thru a local bank so I can use the rebate on the truck. Gosh you folks are sure convincing. My co-works say do it...I am going to test drive it and hope it has some get up and go!! I just wonder over the next 2 or 3 years they will offer a 4x4 HD with 400HP??

and you haven't even been here a year yet bill

i've been registered here for like 14 months, but read the boards for a year prior to that, its like a cycle newbies come...they trust their dealers...rumors start...rumors turn into facts somehow...after a while the old newbies just stop posting....the rumor turns out to be wrong....and it starts all over again

rsav, i say take the chance if you have it for the HD and get the truck. you won't regret it. Maybe except for those 4 days a year when its snowing out, you wish you had a 4x4, but those other 361 days of the year you'll be wishing you had the HD if you did stay with the 4x4

I was pretty Luck I already had a 4-wheel vehicle when I bought the HD so I had back up for the snow. Buddy of mine though did something even better then getting snow wheels though. He went and spent a couple grand on an old Bronco II for the winter, and when every he needed 4-wheel.

Good idea because in the winter on nice days you don't want to be driving around on 16", it just doesn't look right.
Just think of the winter beater as a mod, to improve the life of the Harley.

I am up in Mass where we can get 3-4 storms or snow heavy for a week straight, you never know. A winter ride is a must.

There is no need for a 4x4 on account of snow. I do not drive my HD in snow (let alone rain or any other inclimate weather condition). Unless you live in Alaska, Northern Iowa, Northern Michigan, or the Canadian Shield, you can get anywhere you need with a 4X2. Believe me, I KNOW --- I live in Buffalo. I got around just fine by driving smart, in a '91 S10 4X2 (with an open rear axle) this past winter (we recieved 7 FEET of snow Dec. 23rd to Dec 27th). All I needed was 350 lbs. of sand in the bed and momentum. Never got stuck once, and with the addition of studded tires, I have pulled several full-size 4x4's and Vans out of ditches so far this year. I would have no problem driving my HD through the winter if not for the damned salt and the other drivers who cannot figure out the essentials of winter driving. To go off-roading - I bought a Polaris Sportsman 500. I've got my bases covered and drive the nicest truck on the block.
