Sooner or later, you're gonna have to face off with me Lew. I understand you want to keep the blanket, but you can't claim to be the slowest truck until you prove it...

I wish the rally was towards the fall. Since I live here the summer doesn't excite me, and I don't really want to go to the track when the temps are up.... Oh well...

Maybe now that Mike has the L he will be wanting to go in cooler weather!

Also, a thought to all....... There is a mobile dyno (Mustang chassis) in the area now. With enough interest, it could be brought to the rally site. I've got a contact if anyone is interested.

Good post!

[i]I was wondering when this would come up! Thanks lew b! I am hoping/planning on being in your area in late Aug/early Sept for the USS Missouri Reunion - my Dad served on that ship & I really want to go to that so I doubt I can come down twice. I would like to meet the guys from that area though so if I miss the rally I'll try to meet some of you when I am there ok?

Lew,

When you're at the bottom someone is always trying to bump you up on the list!

I know I have no hope of being the quickest truck, I have to shoot for something.....

I already have a cover. Can't let anyone see those lead bars, that would be a dead giveaway....

If you keep playing hardball, I may have to resort to making a run in 4 wheel drive, low range.

Cool Lew B & Signmaster

Okay, let's add to the excitement, I want to see times from the dragstrip. You guys have to have been to the track before.

Actually I've never bothered to run mine. My '95 is probably heavier than your truck, as it's a 4x4 reg box. The mods for now are intake, exhaust, ignition and pulleys. Your truck and mine might be a good match up.

As for Lew, I think he's just sandbagging. Maybe we should all try to make a rally, then they will have justification for a 17-19 second bracket!

Cool

Actually, it has been mentioned that if things go right for a few people, the rally this year might be an option. But I need to get rid of some bills and the other people needs some cash before we go. I just spent $1000 today on repairs, so that is one bill that needs help.

Hmmm ... I wonder if they will let me keep the trailer that I might need if we make this trip. You see my friend won't be drving his truck down !!! It will be put on a trailer for the trip and I am the one probably pulling it, if it is just two of us going. So technically my truck starts at about 5000 lbs. with one tank of fuel and then the trailer ... (at least 500 lbs) which will slow me down by at least 0.5 seconds, so now I am back into the 18's with it. Carefull Lew B, I might just catch you !!!

Have Fun & Keep on Truckin'

For those who may not know the history of the blanket of which Lew B speaks:

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...threadid=36318

what we finally decided on was slowest 1/4 mile time.
