It just goes to show that movies fall into 3 catagories:

1) EXCELLENT!!!- You find yourself watching it no matter what time it is, or how long it has been running (Including watching the last 10 minutes because you caught it while surfing)

2) Just OK- Neither good or bad, it was a movie.

3) OMG WHAT A POS!!!-Makes you wish the snack bar had Kevorkian Cola.

Worst movie I tried to watch recently - had to be "The Royal Tenenbaums." Like a previous poster mentioned, it had very little of the humor hyped by the ads. I turned it off after about 15 minutes and could only conclude that it was "BOR-ING!!!"

On a lighter note, a really bad movie that I actually enjoyed was "Frankenhooker" - a movie that my boss recommended! It was one of those "So bad it's funny!" movies, sort of in the same vein as "Beneath the Valley of the Ultravixens" but not really a ****.

In keeping with the last poster's "3 Categories" idea, here are my pics...

EXCELLENT:

1) "Tribute To A Bad Man" - Gripping subject matter, with an incredible performance by Cagney

2) "Titus" (Shakespeare's "Titus Andronicus") - I never viewed Jessica Lange as a sex symbol until I saw this movie

3) "Blue Velvet" - My first look at what David Lynch is really trying to say in his films

4) "The Shining" - CABIN FEVER!!! Yikes!

5) "Waking Ned Divine" - Hilarious, ironic, touching, beautifully filmed

MEDIOCRE:

1) "How The West Was Won" - Grand epic, spectacular scenery, bland performances, whitewash of US history

2) Most SNL movies ("Ladies' Man", "Superstar", etc.) - Quite funny, but I consider them just a good way to kill 2 hours

3) "The Hudsucker Proxy" - Excellent story, nicely filmed, but most of the performances, especially that of Jennfier Jason Leigh, were stilted or outright phony

CRAPPY:

1) "Delta Force" - I went to see this movie when I was young (12 yrs?) and even then it STANK!!!

2) "Caddyshack II" - WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING?!?!?

3) "The Talisman" - My ex-girl was into vampire movies; throughout this flick I just kept thinking "Geez...what a waste of a dollar!"

How 'bout "Eyes Wide Shut"? When it ended, I was trying to figure out what the point was. What was the plot? Where was the climax? Why did I just waste my time?

Another lousy movie, along similar lines is "Sex, Lies and Videotapes". Never could figure out that one.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned "Freddy Got Fingered".
That had to be one the worst movies I've ever seen in my life.

On the other hand, I caught the end of my all time favorite movie yesterday, "True Romance". That movie rocks.

All Ben Stiller's movies are horrible with the exception of Zoolander.

Rob Schnieder's newer movies are just look so horrible I can't even sit through the previews.

How about that, how many movies have you not been able to even watch the previews for ????

Thumbs up

Another True Romance fan here The ending is SO good!! The scene where the movie directors assistant gets stopped by the cop is priceless!! I mean he's just been stopped, and he and this women are wrestling with this huge bag of coke, and it explodes all over him about 5 seconds before the cop walks up. Too funny!!,,,,98
