GM Sellout

Well, I bit the bullet this weekend and got the truck that I wanted, a 2002 GMC Sierra Denali. It's not a knock on Ford, no automaker has a truck that can compete with this thing. I drove CC diesels from Ford and Chevy, KR SuperCrew's and the like. I can't even explain it, you'd just have to drive one to understand.

I must admit though that the sites out there for GM pale in comparison to this one. The webmaster and admins really put the time in on here. Thanks guys.

I'm sure I'll still lurk around here being that I'm a car guy and like any information I can get on 'em. But now I guess I'll have to suck it up and peruse the gm-trucks.com site too...

R.I.P.

Here lies Sapo, the former proud owner of a Triton F-150. He admired is Ford with all his might, but was visciously sucked into the devils scheme of purchasing GM vehicles. I can speak for all and say he will never be forgotten (haha). R.I.P. chevy owner.

Sapo, I'd say that's a nice looking truck. I don't say that about too many GM products. Hey, you've got to do what you've got to do. You have to expect that people are going to rag on you a bit.
When something goes wrong please let us know. It'll make us feel better.

You could have waited for Ford to come out with the '04's. It looks like we've got some nice changes ahead of us.

Actually, with $2000 customer cash back and 0% for 60 or another $2500 off it wasn't that bad. Now I do feel for those who paid sticker when these things first came out. But I'd bet that some people who didn't do their homework paid about the same for a KR SuperCrew 4x4 as I paid for my Denali.

I know wittom. I just can't figure out why so many people are brand loyal "to the death". It's not like they supported people's families in a time of need. They're just automobile manufacturers. And I think the big three are pretty close to each other in both quality and innovation (well, maybe dodge is lagging a little further behind). I think it's just a matter of which company makes the vehicle that's right for you. And for now and for me, its GM.

Very nice truck...

How do you like the Quadrasteer? Besides the site you mentioned you may also want to check out http://www.pickuptruck.com . They have a good GM forum, of course it doenst compare to F-150 Online though. I go by JBCalander over there.

A trusted mechanic has one. Well... He's still a good mechanic in spite of his choice.

MN4x4, you'd have to drive it to believe it. When all of the magazine reviewers say that this technology will be available for all full-size trucks within the next five years they're not exaggerating. I've already seen Delphi media displaying a Ford SD with 4WS. It's incredible how maneuverable the truck is with 4WS. Although I have noticed that I have to turn the wheel more in fast sweeping curves. But that's a small price to pay.

SAPO, great truck. My dream truck.

4X4
4WS
suiside doors

damn. If Ford makes the F-150 into a Dodge clone, that's what i'll have. If they don't come out with suiside doors, the GMC's for me.

My choices are limited to American owned companies, built in North America. That leaves me with GM or Ford. Either one is fine with me. Unfortunatly, Chevy decided to make a Fugly truck. So it's GMC or Ford.

As of right now, i see rear door handles on the spy photo's, and that turns my stomach.

The GMC feels wide compared to the Ford, does'nt it?

Good luck with it!

It does feel wider. Although its not nearly as bad as a dually. And in most instances, the turning radius more than makes up for the 5 inches of extra width.

This thing continues to impress me. It's exhaust note is almost perfect, it has just about everything you could want inside, and it can turn like a Saturn. As long as it doesn't break, it's near perfect for me.

It's a good looking truck you have there. When the GMC Sierra C3 came out, I thought that someone had finally built the perfect truck for "me". I want high power, extended cab, all wheel drive. The C3 (now Denali) provided that. Unfortunately, it's a LOT out of my price range, and I can't even touch a used one. The only thing I don't like about the new Denali is the wider track due to the quad-steer (looks...not so good) and the horrid cab lights (clearance lights just don't belong on a 1/2 ton).

In the end, though, I'm going to keep my Ford for a few more years in the hopes that they (Ford) will build my high power, extended cab, all wheel drive truck. Hopefully Ford will build it, and price it so I can actually get one...because if they don't make one in the next two years you'l find me looking at the GMC's again.
