Fix the screens. Friend's grandson fell out of a 2nd story window and broke his pelvis and arm when he leaned against a screen and the screen popped out. If a cat could pop open a screen, imagine what a 50 lb kid could do.

Funniest thing I ever heard of was a friend's mother was playing catch with her dog. She threw the ball and it bounced out the balcony door and over the railing. You guessed it. The dog went after the ball... 15 stories later... SPLATTTT!!! But to add insult to injury, the pooch put a huge dent in the roof of a parked car. Never did figure out if the dog caught the ball on the way down. I saw the car. You woulda thought a boulder fell on it.

Another funny story was another friend who was also playing catch with his year old dog. The ball was too small and got lodged in the dog's throat. He coulnd't get it out and he didn't have the brains to give the dog the Heimlich. By the time he got the dog to the vet, the dog was history.

Well, most screens nowadays are only held in place by a not very strong ridged length of rubber pushed into a channel. The screen is held in place by this length of rubber shoved into a channel smaller than this length of rubber. No way is that going to hold anything from falling out, especially a 50 pound kid. Or even a ten pound cat. I find it disturbing that you term these stories as funny. This was a light hearted thread about a mischevious cat, and now it's been tainted with stories of kids and poor animals falling to their injury or death. Lighten up, sheeez!,,,,98

Oh Man! Why didn't you put that in your orginal post?
It's too late now. Those won't be turkeys in the woods around your house tonight. It's a PETA Tactical Strike Force.

Just come out with your hands up and whatever you do, don't be wearing anything made with fur.
