Question 'Cruising' music

What do all of you listen to when you're going for a drive?

Personally I like some Creedence Clearwater Revival, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Buddy Holly (Makes me feel like I'm alive in the 50's). There's not much good new music, but I also like Wilco, Flaming Lips, White Stripes, etc, etc. How about you?

I am so old...

Steve Earle, Pretenders, the Who, Dave Alvin, Wall of Voodoo, Ella Fitzgerald, Kinky, Elvis Costello, the Strokes, Air, Cowboy Junkies and anything composed by George Gershwin. I've been meaning to get the new Wilco cd. I want to see the movie too.

Oh, yeah, and Stevie Ray Vaughan (May He Rest in Peace).

Lawgrrrl thats some good music! The Cowboy Junkies do a great cover of Velvet Underground's Sweet Jane. One of the best VU covers I've ever heard.

The new Wilco is good, but I was in love with Summer Teeth, and I don't think it's anywhere near as good as that album.

I usually listen to something like Chili Peppers(!!!) Korn, Godsmack, Creed, something with a good beat to it. A lot of CD's I listen to are burned CD's with favorite songs, so I don't have to jump tracks. If I know I'm going to be racing, I put on ZZ Top's "La Grange," or Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child."

I doubt myself on a great deal of things but one thing I know is that I have great taste in music. My boss knows this too which is why I think he keeps me around here.

Ah good call! I think War made two of the best cruising songs ever. Lowrider and Spill the Wine. I've been in my truck many times screaming 'spill the wine! take that pearl!!!!' LOL.
