year I.D. using tail lens

Why does a new body style F-series have a '96TK date stamp on the tail lens?

I guess it's because that is when the tail lights were designed and the 'molds' were made.

If you are trying to 'teel' what model year of truck you are looking at by the lenses, don't. It just don't work that way and hasn't for many years now
