2003 Rates/Incentives?

Has anyone heard of the lease and/or purchase rates for 2003 F150's yet. If it makes a difference, I am planning on a Lariat. Also, are there any incentives announced, or will that have to wait until all the 2002 stock is gone?

BTW, I am in Canada. I know there may be slight differences, but usually the the US/Canada incentives are pretty close to one another.

Thanks for any information,

Grampa Kinny

I was just looking into leasing a 2003 F-150 Supercab 4x4, Heritage Edition with an MSRP of about $34,600. The dealer came back with a figure of $520/month with no money down on a 36month lease. That is with a selling price of $200 over invoice.

He also told me that for every $1000 I put down, it would drop the monthly payment about $30. It sounds like Ford either wants out of the leasing business, or they are still trying to push the leftover 2002's.

Here is a link to the incentives for both '02 and '03 Ford vehicles.

Also just found out that Ford has announced an increase in the rebates for 2002 F-150 (excluding Supercrew) from $2,500 to $3,000.

I don't think it is Ford that wants out of the leasing business, it is the financers (of which Ford Credit is one). When leasing became big, the residual payoffs were being set pretty high which made the deal really good for the consumer, but the leasing financers were loosing their butts on it. If you compare todays residuals with those of say 10 years ago, you will see the difference.

For incentives and rebates, they are all regional. The are also listed by zipcode on the www.fordvehicles.com site.

That link at fordvehicles.com also shows $3000 rebate with my zip code. I originally got the figure from www.fordcredit.com.

I also noticed that the $3000 was only good from 8/27-9/3, so maybe it is only a regional thing since it only last for one week!

Pushing the 2002's

The other thing that shows they are pushing the '02's is the FREE financing for 5 years...That is an awesome deal. If I'm gonna get free money for 5 years or pay near 6% on a newer model, there would have to be some significant reasons to lay out that kind of extra coin.

From what I understand though, the 0% on F-150 is only for 36 months, 60 months is 2.9%.
