I think they are a day late, a dollar short over at GM. Ford will discontinue the Excursion. People aren't buying enough of these tanks. The gas guzzeler tax will kill you.

I don't care who makes them, I don't think we need vehicles that big! The F-series trucks give you enough variation to do just about anything.

Hey, good luck to GM. I'll make sure to be on the look out for the yuppies and soccer moms, on cell phones, with out a clue, driving these tanks. Remember when the pick up trucks were the biggest things on the road (besides the tractor trailers).

Escalade ESV is based on the Suburban/Yukon XL platform. It's not any bigger, so it's smaller than the Excursion.

What he said. Closer though its nothing more than a glorified Suburban with about an extra 10-20,000 price tag and alot more electronics that can mess up. I personaly feel the Cadilliac SUVs are a joke but they sell like crazy so it makes sense that they would make the ESV. Gas guzzeling SOB though

If it ever drops in price close to a used excursion (what I want next) I will probably get one. I love Escalades and some 22s or 24s would be awesome. The front end is fugly if its stock but nothing that a nice billet grille cant fix.

I'd love a PSD Excursion actually. It's got mileage you can live with, relatively speaking, and all that space and metal. You can probably just powerwash most compacts you ran into that weel from its wheelwells and be ready to go.

First of all only the FBI will buy them!! LOL
I was talking to my uncle, he owns a Ford dealer, about the excursions being discontinued cause i had heard this rumor and he was like ya i doubt it. There was no question in his mind that they would continue to build them. I dunno just what i heard.

Not much if any worse than a Sub/Yukon which get as good or better mileage than F-150's.

You must be driving a Lightning then. I work at the assembly plant that builds the Escalades and that will probably make the ESV. The dealer stickers on the Escalades says they get just better than a Lightning. I expect the ESV since its heavier to get about the same as a Lightning. And take into account it will have a 345 horse power engine.

EPA estimates are just that...estimates. What does the sticker say 13/15? Most 6.0's get 15/18 mpg in real world driving, the 345 hp Escalade engine probably doesnt get much worse mileage then that...it just requires higher octane. They are the same engine with some computer tweaking. While its not easy on gas...its not a pig either like the Excursion which others have implied.

Im not defending the Escalade really, even if I had the money I would never buy one. Just making a point.
