Talking The Miners Are Alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They just announced that all 9 miners trapped in the coal mine in PA are ALIVE & FINE! Thank God for this great news!!!!!!!!!!
That area has been hit very hard since 9/11. The plane that went down in Shanksville is about 10 miles or so from Somerset where the mine is located. I am so happy that there is such WONDERFUL news for these folks!
Sorry guys - I had to share GREAT news for a change! I knew all the prayers would pay off!

Cowlady, I've been watching this on the news. Now I hope the rescuers can safely go down in the capsule and bring em' all up. I heard that one of the men was having heart stress, but I think he'll be ok. My prayer's go out to the men and their families.

that is great news

I just read about it on cnn.com and i am pulling for them.I think they will all be ok

On another tragic note, we really need some help out here with all these wildfires. There are 7(and still adding) major ones within a 200 mile radius of where I live. The nearest one is only 45 miles away. When the wind blows just right, day turns into night because of the smoke blocking out the sun.Several small communities have been evacuated and many others are on alert. The story about it on cnn.com is just the tip of the iceberg. What I wouldn't give for some of that rain oregon is famous for........

Being a geologist very near 'coal country' and having grown up smack dab in the middle of the Western Kentucky Coalfields, it's nothing short of amazing that they brought them out alive.

My father has been employeed in the coal industry all of his life. He's not actually 'down in the pits or in the underground mines', his job is in maintenance (a D-11 dozer blows an engine - he makes the call on replacing/rebuilding etc etc etc) but, this really touched home. We have multitudes of friends that are in coal and do work underground.

My heart-felt thoughts and prayers continue to go out to those miners and their families. As if 77-hours underground, trapped wasn't bad enough, now they're being pelted by the media.

God Speed.

From: York Pa,
Good to see that everyone survived the mining accident!!!!! Did anyone hear about the woman who ran up to her husband with a can of chew!!! He must have been hurting bad for a big JUICY dip! And she must have known this and made sure her man had his chew!!! This is a woman who knows and loves her man!!! people are sending so much chew to the hospital they don't know what to do with it all!!! don't they know miners are not allowed to do Tabacco products!!! All that time in a cold dark cave, filled with water, praying for help, missing there familles, hungry and thirsty, Then one by one pulled to safety and they wanted Beer and chew! God bless them all!!!

And I read on CNN that they are getting overtime pay for all of the time they were stuck in the mine. They were on the job. They should be compensated.
