Question Netgear or Linksys?

I am in the market for a wireless switch/DSL Router and I was wondering if anyone had any positive or negative things to say about either of the 2 above mentioned brands? The models I am looking into are the Netgear MR314 and the Linksys BEFW11S4. Thanks for any input.

I like Netgear better personally, but have had good luck with both brands.

Well, my office network uses a Netgear FS524S Switch and a Linsys BEFVP41 DSL Router. Not the wireless variety, but I've had good luck with both brands. Very easy to setup and on the Linsys, it uses HTML screens for the setup, so makes it much easier then having to use the command line setup (which you can still do if you prefer...)

I can't speak to that specific model, but I have an Netgear RT314 DSL router and a Netgear ME102 802.11b access point and I am very happy with both...

Thanks guys

Thanks for the replies. I placed and order for the Linksys Switch/Router, should be here Wednesday! Now all I need is a PCMCIA wireless card for my laptop and a PCI card for my home PC. Too bad my broadband isn't being hooked up until Friday, but then again I am most likely gonna be the only person using that segment of the cable so I will be flying! Thanks again.

The Netgear is much more robust, and an overall quicker/better router. Linksys's cant handle speed and traffic, where the Netgears shine.

After you install your Access point - Buy a Lucent Gold wireless card and download netstumbler and drive around your city. Youll be shocked how many Access Points you can pick up.

80% of wireless access points are NOT running any security.
Even 128bit WEP encryption is easy to crack....
