Hey man, that looks great!!! Time for you to start charging people for some custom work. Maybe open your own shop. That looks very nice. At first I had thought that you were doing this on the H/D, I got so scared. Good thing you werent experimenting on the H/D. I like the sig by the way, very nice ride. So how did that auto show go, did you add any trophies to the collection?

Thanks for the compliment GASGUZZLER007. Anyway, yeah, i was just experimenting with the 85. Wouldn't touch the HD LoL.

Here's the link to the thread about the auto show. The judging was a farce, but it was still fun.

Here's a link to the custom tonneau inserts that I made for the HD for shows.

Anyway, did you ever get the hang of photoshop yet?

Iam still working at it. Its a good program now all I need is version 7.0 because I have 6.0. Once I begin using it an update always comes out. LOL

Anyways, I really liked the bed cover you made. That looks great. Did you come up with the idea yourself? Awesome!

Thanks. Yeah, i was at one show, and since i leave the tonneau open at shows, i thought i needed to do something under there to dress it up. So i just used 3/8 plywood, cut the shapes, painted them, glued on pics from calendars, and then coated them in this stuff called Enviro Tex Lite. Its equal to 50 coats of varnish, and all you do is mix it in a cup, and pour it on and let dry, and it leaves a shiny, hard surfacec. Looks awsome. And they are just attached with super strong velcro, so they come right out.

I get alot of people ask me if i bought them. So i guess i take that as a compliment. LoL. But it was expensive, and took a long time (ALOT of sanding), cost me about 150 to do. That enviro tex stuff costs 20 bucks a quart, and i used i think 6 quarts. The velcro was 20 bucks for a roll too. Rest of the stuff was pretty cheap, but it was something to do during the boring winter, and was cheaper than having someone else make me something custom.

Thanks SPROCKET_X. Good idea, but There's only one problem with that idea though. The cover is specific for the HD trucks only, and the under side of the cover is only on a few other leers, they don't have the hexagons on the underside any more, at least on the screw beds.

Also, it takes ALOT of work to make these. More than people probably realize. A ton of sanding is involved. Gotta make 3 different patterns, cut em all out, sand em all, and check the fit on all of em. Paint em, and they suck up the paint...takes around 5-6 coats, cut out all the pics, glue em all on, print out the pics of the trucks, mix and pour that clear coat stuff, and you have to blow on them to get all the bubbles out (get high off the stuff in the process... ) Then ya gotta sand down all the drips around the edges from the stuff and that takes a long time cuz the stuff gets hard as a rock and there are alot of em, cut all the velcro, prep the inserts and tonneau with alcohol, glue on the pull straps to get em out, then put on the velcro and put em in.

I started making them in around january, and i finished them up DURING the show. I did some of it just in my spare time, no big rush (mostly cut them out, painted and put pics on 1/2 of em), but spend every spare minute i had the week before the show cleaning the truck and finishing the inserts (rest of pics, clear coat, velcro, pull straps). Also, it takes a day for clear to set up enough to sand, and i could only do 2 at a time because you have to cover them to keep the dust off. So its alot of work, but if i had more time to work on stuff like that, i definately would sell them. well this is enough rambling for one post. LoL

thanks
