Big News
I just found out Monday evening that I'm going to be a Daddy!
I got freaked out when the doctor pulled out a little wheel thingy and gave us a due date of Feb 21. Having a due date makes it seem too real and scary - as if it wasn't scary enough already.

I will have to make sure and include you in the Happy Father's Day post for next year. Now, of course, you have obligated yourself to post pictures of the baby next year. If you don't already have one to take pictures of your truck, you will need a digital camera now for the baby.
Thanks!
I'll have to make sure we put a digital camera on the list for the baby shower registry - I'm assuming there is a registry just like there was for our wedding (?) - anyway, that's what grandparents are for, right?
Hmmm, maybe I'll manage to get that big screen TV that was on the wedding registry that no one bought us ....

I was thinking the big screen would make a great gift the grandparents. After all, they are going to want to watch movies of the kid action, and the child is going to need a big screen TV to watch Disney movies on. Think the grandparents will go for that line of reasoning?
Actually, I'd be happy if they would occasionally by some diapers, or clothes, or other things that babies need that I don't yet know about.

OR
1)Ask for two or three weeks of diaper service.
2)Learn how to handle a diaper pin (i.e. your fingers between diaper and baby!)
3) Buy four dozen cloth diapers.
4)Buy half dozen plastic diaper pants
5)Double diaper when necessary.
6)Plastic pail with tight locking lid, and amonia.
and with the savings buy your own big screen TV.
p.s. I am still cleaning my vehicles with diapers I used on my first baby who is now 22.

You are about to have a fuller and more enriching life, congrats.

Congrats 36fan!!
I'm not Kornak The Magnificent but being the proud Poppa of three children I can confidently predict where the truck's mod money will be going for a while.
Heeheehee, get all the sleep that you can now then sit back and enjoy the ride.
Best of luck to you and your family!!!

Thanks all!
I know, the shift kit and brushgaurd I've been eyeing aren't going to happen now :-(
But, it should all be worth it :-)
Does anyone use their truck for the family car? My wife wants to use it to haul the kid around because it is easier to get a child into and out of a car seat in the backseat of the truck than in her Escort. she works as a nanny so she had had to deal w/ with this in the past. Then she started talking about getting and Expedition
I told her we could only afford one gas guzzler at a time
OK Raoul, I'll bite.
What's diaper service?
I had mentioned before about going the cloth diaper route and the wife had no objections to it. I used to work at Avis and the rags we used there were scrap cloth diapers from somewhere - when I left I should have acquired a few more than I did ;-)
I guess I'm starting to get into this. I stopped by a garage sell today and bought a bouncy chair thingy, some crib noise making toy w/ mirrors and other gatchets on it, a seat/carrying doo-hickey, and some sort of chair type thing that you bath the kid in - all for $10, and everything looks like new
