Movie Question
Movie Question
My girl and I watched the movie training day and we have a bet going about the car in the movie. I say it is a 70's model monte carlo and she says it's an 80's model. Who's right? If I am I win $50. Come on guys help me out.
Tough call but
I think its 80's. I remember as a kid my uncle had a '76 Monte and it was definitely the longer style. And my sister had an 84 Cutlass/ pretty much the GM sister car of the Monte and it looked very much like the one in the movie. So without being 100% sure because I don't know when they changed to the smaller body style...I'd lean towards 80's being the correct guess.
It's a 78
My dad had the 78 olds cutlass that looked a lot like the 78 Monte Carlo.
Here's a quote from a the dailynews review of the movie...
One fine morning, nice, naive, Valley rookie Jake Hoyt (Ethan Hawke) gets into the passenger seat of Alonzo's outlandish, '78 Monte Carlo lowrider, eager to prove himself worthy of joining the legendary enforcer's elite team.
