Cool Street Racing

Post your best stories!
I know.... this is about the 317,000 time this has probably been posted, but what the hey... it's all in fun.

First off, if you're just going to say "you shouldn't be racing," or "racing isn't for trucks," then read no further. Don't flame for other people's storys and don't call people liars, etc. Until you race someone, you won't really know what their truck can do.

With that said....
Tonight I raced just a few cars. The best would have to be a Pontiac Firebird. He had been weaving behind me for a while and finally got up beside me (V-6, 5-spd). I didn't bother looking or revving at him; there was no need to waste the gas. The light changed and he took off immediately. I rolled into it; when I was at about 20 mph, I nailed it and flew past him. He dropped back a gear after I let off and started to pull on me. I never let him get past my back bumper. Took it to 65 and shut it down; he was about 3 car-lengths back by then and had given up.

That was my moment of glory for this evening... I know others have done better, and the L boys could whoop my @$$, but hey, not bad for a '98 non-PI 5.4L 4x4!

We had just finished cruising in my friend's 442 and I was driving home in my truck. Well, it was late so Veterans was pretty free of traffic. I pull up besides a brown Cutlass. You could see parts where the car had started to rust through so it wasn't in any respect a restored vehicles. You could feel the sound from the exhaust. Windows were tinted so I couldn't see who was inside but I sat their looking at it. Light turned green and we both started to roll forward. I stomped on it and my truck downshifted and I starting moving. Just as I did that the Cutlass hit it's gas, downshifted and starting squeeling it's tires. A second later it came blowing by me. I'm guessing he was doing atleast 15 before he hit his gas. LOL, I don't really like cutlass but you have to admit they are beasts!

Cool

There is a bunch in the Computer Chips Section that are entitled "Victories & Defeats for Neal". There are third parts to this saga and they are plenty long so make sure you have a drink before you start reading. The easiest way to find them is to do a search for them.

Have Fun & Keep on Truckin'

Driving down 4 lane road ( 2 each direction) and I hear a buzzing sound approaching. It wasnt bee season so it was probably a Honda. To my surprise the buzzing changes sides and comes from the right. I see a yellow colored 1994-1997 Honda fully equipped with fartpipe and tons of stickers. I was with a friend and he was laughing so hard that the dude in the honda heard him. He opens his window and is like "Whats so funny?." Well since Iam a nice person I didnt say a thing but my friend said "that buzzing bro, I thought it was a bee!" Obviously the guy was pissed so he closed his window. Then he starts revving his 1 liter. My friend told me to race him but I didnt feel like wasting the gas. Anyways, the light turns green and he peels out but its because his tires had no thread and not because he was launching it. I hit the gas and flew right passed. I was expecting him to fly by me with flashing lights. Nothing happened. Next light he pulls right next to me again. "Is your car supercharged?" I say no. " I was trying to keep up with you so stop lying" Well I guess his car was slow. Appearently he thought that we had a race going on. I was in the 97 Expy.
DOWN WITH RICE!!!!!

Can't be b/c he has a 1L engine

Anything that beats his 1L ricer has to be super charged ?

Guess he thinks the sticker mods and the carbon fiber shifter make it go faster.

He only thought he had a race.....<g>

Ricers will never learn...have yet to see one around here that has more then the mellon size tip, a wing, and stickers as the only perf mods. Maybe less stickers and no adjustable wing, and it would go faster due to less weight. <g>

Sorry I don't have an actual street race story.... it is due to the anti flame statement at the begining...still like to read about them though <g>

I need to move to your town flea, i've only had 4 people actually want to race me in the past few months. Of course these all happened in my Dakota Sport, because my Ford is lifted and has the same 1/4 mile time as a yugo.

1st one i was crusin down the road and some guy in an almost identical dakota pulls up next to me. We were doing about 35 mph, we both punch it and raced up to about 80 mph before he took the next exit. He beat me by about 1/2 a truck length. I don't know what he has in his truck but mine is lightly modded and i could barely keep up.

Next one happened on the way to work last week, i was on a three lane road (2 lanes my direction, 1 lane oncoming traffic), there was a blue Grand Am GT stopped at a stop light in the left lane. About 500 feet ahead the lanes merge into 1, so i pulled up next to him so i can get out in front when the light turns green (i was late for work). When the light turned i took off slow in first, but i noticed that he floored it to keep me from getting in front of him, so i powershift into second, smoke the tires and fly past him just in time to merge.

The next one was a early 90's Corvette he took me easily but i chased him for a few miles (i was about 5 car lengths behind) and let off when we hit 120. the next day i ordered a nitrous kit from summit which allowed me to easily take care of some sort of BMW with a big stereo system in it.

Sorry it's not a ford but it's still fun to drive.
