Fearless to the rescue - of a STUCK CHEVY!
Well, I always had faith in Fearless & this past Tues/Wed, I was able to PROVE I'm right - that he is the best truck aorund! Let me tell you what happened!
A friend took me off roading 2 weeks ago at 1 AM in a forest. I got just so far & decided that was enough - it was TOO dark, there were logs lying around & worst of all, we had just 1 truck. CARDINAL RULE OF OFF ROADING - NEVER GO ALONE! I decided I wouldn't abuse my truck or take a chance so we turned around & came back. Of course my friend took this as me wimping out - he figured I didn't think a Ford (or me) could handle the trails & since he has a Chevy & Toyota, this was his "proof" that my truck couldn't cut it & neither could I.
Tues nite he took me back there in his '85 Silverado to show me what a "real truck" could do. Well, it was early evening & LIGHT out & his truck is a beater so of course we went farther in the first spot than I'd gone. Then we headed to the main area where I backed off from & he was barreling thru when suddenly - BAM! We're stuck. BIG TIME stuck. Ain't no way we're driving outta there stuck! Yes - we had just 1 truck AGAIN, it was now 9PM & starting to rain. We were miles from any houses or road, had no flashlight or jackets ( I did but it was a light 1), & there was a thunder storm coming. After deciding we weren't leaving, we spent the nite in his truck with no food or anything to drink. I was not real happy but didn't complain since I didn't feel like being outside the truck during this major thunderstorm!
In the morning, we walked 2 miles at least, all uphill, to a farmmhouse & the guy was really nice - drove us back to the stuck truck in his old style F250 diesel. I was sure he'd get us out. Uh-uh. The truck was too heavy, had the long wheelbase & ended up stuck too for a bit. He did manage to get out & drove us to a town & I called another friend who picked us up, drove us ALL the way back to my house here (30 miles at least!) & there I picked up Fearless. Off to the off road shop, picked up new tires & $600 later, we head back to the Chevy. Needless to say I also missed a day of work (no pay), lost my perfect attendance record & lost my incentives plus a shot at being a training supervisor - you need perfect attendance!!!!!
It took 2 tugs - 1 very gentle & the second a LITTLE stronger & FEARLESS PULLED THAT CHEVY THRU 2 STUCKS LIKE WE WERE ON THE ROAD!!!!
I credit my new Tires Buckshot Mudders by Maxxis with the ease of pulling the Chevy out of his spot & thru the F250's stuck! I was SO happy I kissed Fearless right on his muddy hood! Oh - Fearless picked a flower for me too! There was a buttercup in his tow hook, waiting for me to find it! LOL!
I just had to tell everyone how AWESOME Fearless was & the tires too! My only 2 complaints are I can't spit mud anymore & I can't break 'em loose now - these tires GRAB like nothing I've ever had before!
Spread the word - Fearless & a female SHOWED THAT CHEVY UP BAD! ROFL!

I know what you mean cowlady, $600 for a new set of tires and you can't break them loose!
Friday night I drove my Mom out to the back acres because we heard some coyotes yelping - they have a new calf, and a couple more expected any day. To get out back we half to go around the creek and through a cornfield that hasn't been planted yet. The coyots were gone by the time we got back there, so I turned around to come back. Of course I had to gun it and do a donut to get turned around. Anyway, I drove in a circle because the back end wouldn't break loose!

Thumbs Up CL!! Good job at getting that Cheby out. Sorry to hear about missing out on that training supervisor opening.
That reminds me, I need to get new tires also in the next couple of months. {just can't get me to break down and buy them.}

No Ed - I bought the tires & I'm glad I did - I hate to be indebted to anyone, even if they are originaly indebted to me! LOL! I just like to think that I can take care of myself since it seems I'll have to - nobody else is volunteering! ROFL!
PBall - what tires are you looking for? I can't tell you how much I love these tires! I've been waiting for a good heavy rain to see how they do & this week it's supposed to rain every day!
I'll see how they do & let you guys know ok?

Those tires should get you out of just about anything! A buddy of mine has had several sets, and routinely gets through some of the worst gumbo mud that east Arkansas rice fields have to offer!
I thought about putting them on my truck, but decided I wanted something a little less agressive since I don't get to play in the mud that much.
