Here is one for you.

Driving down the highway in the far left lane doing about 70 when a dude in the lane right next to me decides that he wants to go faster then everyone and swerves into my lane. I guess he didnt see me coming down the road. I had to hit the brakes very hard to slow down and not hit the idiot. He was talking on his cellphone. Figures.

Another.

Happened few years back. Driving a 96 T-Bird. On a 4 lane road (2 lanes each way) in the left lane when some lady decides that her carolla is a sports car and hits the gas on a U-Turn. I wasnt even expecting that. Hit her right on the side. She tryed to tell the officer that it was my fault. Yeah ok.

One more.

Driving Expy when a ricer pulls up and decides that he wants to race. Iam sorry but I dont race yellow honda civics with Type-R decals. Especially four bangers.

I think I need to stop driving in the left lane.

If you ever been a motorcycle rider, you'd have never posted this.

Where would I start, somewhere between 1982 and now. I have been ran off the road 5 times, not once have they stopped to see if I was okay or if even if I made it or not. I have even had car drivers try to run me over because I blow my horn at then so they would not hit me. (I guess they saw a little bike and said the he11 with you, and gunned it anyway) Yes I have even seen bikers do the same to cars, so don't even go there. But I believe the best was a few weeks ago in my 97 F150. Saw a GT sting (maybe a 97) moving down the road, thought nothing of, then the very next hard right hand turn, a unmarked police GT sting (2000 I believe) was on my side of the road trying to catch the other sting. If I had been on my bike, I may not be here writing this. The truck hit the ditch, just come out with mud all over it. Even he did not stop to see if I was okay. I could go on for days and days and days...........

Nuff said.

Just yesterday:

Was on the way to the airport. 4 lanes approaching an intersection. Two lanes straight ahead. One left and one right hand turn lane. I'm in left straight ahead lane approaching the red light at about 25 mph. Lexus RX300 comes shooting across from the right turn lane into the left turn lane right in front of me. A$$ end of the Lexus half blocking my lane. Looked at the driver while blasting my horn. You guessed it. Female driver on a cellphone. GRRRRR!!!!!!! Well, she did have her blinker on...

MM's lady is writing this one...hehehe.

On the subject of bad driving and cell phones...this is becoming an epidemic of unbelievable size in our area...too many folks, male and female alike, spending too much time trying to talk and drive at the same time, and you can guess which one they are doing efficiently. Aside from being dangerously stupid, cell phone driving should be considered rude...after all, it is considered impolite to try to carry on a conversation and do something else at the same time. And if that something else just happens to be a task that requires your attention and manual dexterity, a cell phone tying up one hand is, well, rather stupid and careless. I have a bumper sticker that says "HANG UP AND DRIVE"... some advice cell phone users should take seriously. Some cities already have laws regarding cell phones and driving...a trend I hope continues and gets enforced. I have had way too many close calls with idiots who would rather talk than drive, and would love to have a device that I could point at them and "kill" the cell phone (temporarily, of course) as a lesson. They apparently can't hear the horn...

It can be terribly scary out there....Even more so on a motorcycle.

My motorcycle has been resting in my back garage for 2 years now. After an accident in my truck, I've been too freaked out about what would have happened to me if I'd been on my bike. https://www.f150online.com/galleries.../79-81-444.jpg

On a cycle, people move into your lane and occasionally even ingore your horn and keep on coming because they know they can move you out of there. The only recourse is to get out of the way if you can and follow them home and make sure they regret it.

What kind of logic tells someone that it's alright to throw a cigarette or pop can out he window when there is a motorcycle behind them??? How about tailgating something 1/5 your size and weight. I've been tempted to keep a bag of rocks on my tank bag to deal with tailgaters. Or maybe put studs on my gloves to remove the paint from cars that invade my space.

When I'm in my truck it's a little different. I have a pair of 75W Hella driving lights on my bumper that are wired directly into the hi beams so I just need to pull back on the lever to show my disapproval. I installed them for late night driving to my girlfriends school but I mostly use them in the city if someone offends me.

If you're on this site, you're likely a better driver than most but for the rest of the world my advise would be:

-Use your turn signal!!!

-Don't weave in and out of traffic!!!

-If you're not at least 50 ft in front of me, don't get in to my lane!!!

-Don't pass me and then slow down!!!

-Get in the exit lane in an orderly manor. Do not pass as many
cars as you can and exit at the last moment causing everyone else to brake!!!

-Do not speed up and tailgate me as you approach your exit!!! I'll just take my foot off the gas and exit there as well at 15MPH.

-Lastly: If you do offend me and I light you up with my brights and Hella's; your best option available is to take the point and behave yourself. If you give me the finger, you'll just make things harder on yourself.

Think of it this way....if you had been on your bike, most likely you would have not even been there. That is one thing I like about the bikes. They accelerates so much faster then cars/trucks without even trying to. So I say you would have not even seen it, nor been there to even know that it happed.

My 2cents

85 Honda Nighthawk 69,000miles, 90 Kawasaki ZX750R ninja 46,000 miles
97 F150 V6 5 speed 75,000 miles.

i see your point, but the thing is, is that wherever he wouldve been on his bike theres the same amount of chance that there could be an accident there too.

its just a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and that can be anywhere at any time
