[i]I use a RCI 2950 DX in my L. Don't get one--very difficult to operate if you want to change 'bands'--but it does have an extremely good 'receiver'. In my xlt is a RCI 6900-better unit overall but the 2950 'looks' prettier

I think, personally, the 2950 and 2970's are easy to operate. They are both identical save for the 70 puts out a bit more power. I love them.
