Motorcraft oil filters.

Does any body else buy there oil and filters at Wally world like I do ? It is usually a couple bucks cheaper than parts house. But I was looking for some filters the other day and the guy there said they werent going to sell motorcraft anymore. Just Fram, which im not using. Has anybody else had this prob ?

Nope, i always buy Fram oil filters. I don't think it really matters which you use though. I don't think there's a bad filter out there.

Mobil 1 Baby!

I switched to synthetic about 20,000 miles ago.
Up until then, I had used Motorcraft.

Up here in NW Ohio, they've completly stopped selling AC Delco parts at Wal*Mart, and are going to stop selling Motorcraft parts the mechanic told me.....(except Motorcraft oil which he said they have to carry)....seems pretty stupid to me....

Macgyver--

Why would you switch all of a sudden to K&N oil filters from FRAM? To match your air filter? Or have you done any research on the oil filter that you could possibly share with us fellow truckers?

I use motorcraft filters right now. But on my mustang I always used a FRAM. Never had any problems. I usually just buy whatever I see at the store when I go.

I don't buy into any particular brand being better than the other, as far as filters and oil.

I used a Wal-mart brand oil in my mustang all the time and when I sold it, it had 184,000 miles on the clock. Long as you replace things on time, you will be okay.

yeah, but that is only for the FL-1A, the FL-820 that most of the people here would use might not be a puralator. As far as the FL-1A compared to the PH8A the motocraft is superior hands down. I did come across the whole line up of filters compared to eachother some time back I will see if I can find it again. I have heard that the K&N filters auctually filter too well, and plug up.

I didn't know that, thanks Ford4Fun! I haven't seen the K&N yet, I will test it out when I find them. Back in the hills here, we don't get stuff until y'all have had it for 15 years! *LOL*

02XLT has got it right, as long as you change everything on time and take care of things your vehicle will be okay. I'm not a big Consumer Reports fan, but, they compared oil filters and found that the Fram was the best. All the filters did what they were supposed to, fram just did it better. (Not that I'm selling them) I use Motorcraft or Fram, whichever is closer to my hand at the store!

Any good parts store should have Motorcraft filters. Pep boy's, AutoZone, Avanced Auto, NAPA, etc...

I use Motorcraft FL820S on my truck. Wouldn't let a FRAM near any vehicle. Ever had one apart? (Jay shudders after remembering.)
