off topic: valentines day help!
what should i do for my g/f on valentines? ive been with her for about 2 and a half years and i want to do something original, not the usual box of chocolates and taking her out to dinner. got any ideas? keep in mind, my budget is very limited. thanks for the help!
Have a dozen long-stemmed roses delivered to her at work, school or wherever she will be among a large crowd of females. Sure bet to get you a little something in return!

MAKE HER A CARD - you know - cut & paste stuff - Lottsa hearts - flowers & stuff - use marker pencils in different colours, write a little poem -
"Roses are red, Violets are blue - Honey, I MADE this Valentine - JUST FOR YOU"
Pls forward $4.50 (USA funds, for poem) to my address

thanks for the help guys! im thinking of having roses delivered to her while shes at work (since school might be a little bit of a hassle). ill also send her an e-card and maybe even make her a card also. any other ideas? thanks for all the help!
Here are some proven things (in order of increasing cost):
1. If she has voicemail at work or an answering machine at home, get a CD with a romantic song that has some significance for you two. Pick a time when she won't at that location, and leave message while holding phone to speaker as song is playing. Fade music after 30 sec or so and leave touching message on how much you love her. COST: none (if you own or can borrow a suitable CD).
2. Buy 1 valentine's day card, and 1 bag each of Hershey's kisses and hugs. Eat chocolate, recycle aluminium foil wrappers and save the white paper flags. Sign card with the usual mushy stuff and work in how you will always shower her with “Hugs and Kisses.” Put the white paper flags in the card so that when she opens it, they will fall out and “shower” her. COST: under $10
3. The Rose routine with a twist. Have florist add 1 silk flower to the the roses (matching the real ones of course) and sign card "I will love you until the last flower dies." COST: about $50
4. Go to jewelry store and buy a ring with a diamond in it. (one with a diamond about the size of your head generally works). Give it to her, wrapped or unwrapped it doesn't usually matter. COST: I'm getting a headache thinking about how much this would cost.

I just have to say... if I had a boyfriend and he did any of the things that zab suggested, i would love him forever. espically the hersey kisses and hugs and the rose. that is the sweetset most thoughtful thing I have ever heard... you should most definatly at least do the hugs and kisses, it would be the easiest thing to do and yet so sweet.. I am so blown away with those ideas... I don't even know what I would do if they happened to me... just thought I had to tell you how amazing I thought it was, and your girlfriend will love you no matter what you do...

....Maybe it is time to take the plunge....and if she says no, then move on and you have a ring for the next one.
