loose coil packs

I had the eighth cylinder coil pack replaced under warranty and I wanted to just look things over and I noticed I could move it a little bit.I tried all the other coil packs and I could shake them a little bit too.Can I/Should I tighten the coil packs or are alll coil packs just a little loose on these trucks.Go try to move yours and see if they are the same way. Thanks

this would be best in the engine section but, I would leave it alone remember that there will be expansion and contraction when the engine warms and cools.

I was hoping to get more responses .Anyways,I was wondering if anyone else had tried moving their coil packs to see if they were a little loose too. Then I would at least know its not just on mine.

I note you only have nine post so you must be a new member. Welcome aboard. This is a great site and you will learn much from reading the posts.

You would get a better response by posting your question under the engine section of the forum. Look at the first page of the message board and you will see that the site is broken down into different sections. ie engine, transmission, etc.

Hope this helps.

They should swivel at most...?!

Each coil packs is held down by one bolt that goes through a brass bushing of sorts...

When properly tightened, they would probably swivel somewhat due to the single pivot point mounting method... They shouldn't "move" vertically however...

Keep in mind the bolts holdiong them in are quite small, and, by over tightening them it would be easy to strip the threads.
