JL is right. It also comes standard with 4R100 trans., 3.73 gears, stiffer shocks, larger brakes, and those dumb 7-lug wheels. It's basically the same as the '97-'99 F250 Lightduty trucks.

P.S. Worse gas mileage as well.

It is the model of F150 with 7700 lb GVWR (not towing capacity). They have several components that are stronger than a regular F150... in fact, they used to be called the F250 Light Duty.

nomo is correct - it's the F150 Heavy Duty with a 7700lb GVWR.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why you can't get an Off Road package on the 7700? If I'm correct, it's basically the F150 ORP with different wheel/tire combo, 3.73 rear end, and no skid plates.
For that matter does anyone know why we can't get 3.73s on the F150 ORPs?

When did they start putting this 7700 badge on? I have yet to notice one. It's not like there aren't a lot of 7700 payload trucks running around. They're easy to spot becaue of the wheels. Just haven't seen that badge...

36fan....

You can't get ORP with the 7700 because they only come with 16" rims. Check my gallery though.......hehe.

As far as the 3.73 gears go, Ford will not put them in the 150 because they sell too many of them! What I mean is that the 3.73's will not let Ford meet the CAFE standards in the 150 so they save them for the lower volume products like Superduties and 7700's.

As far as the difference between the 150 and the 7700; there are quite a few in addition to the tire and wheel combo you mentioned, ranging from brakes to suspension to drivetrain. Lot's of parts are lifted from Superduties.

I've raced many 150's with the 3.55's and I beat them every time!
