And the next Enron could be......

....FORD! According to an article I read, FoMoCo is not doing as well as we'd like to think! They said that after the 0% sales the next quarter is expected to be bad. The stock rating or something like that is just 1 step aboove junk!
How could this happen? Is this simply fallout from Firestone? I can't find the article but when I do I'll post it. I'm just a bit concerned about the whole idea of Ford following Enron's footsteps!

Couldn't happen.
Bush would bail Ford just like Ford bailed Nixon...i mean Carter bailed Chrylser.

I doubt very seriously that Ford will file for bankruptcy anytime real soon. In looking over their financial statement of a few weeks back, I noticed this:
Cash exceeded debt by $3.9 billion at year-end, $800 million better than at Sept. 30.
Despite the Firestone situation, Ford still has plenty of cash on-hand and today their stock was actually upgraded by a couple of analysts.

I bleed blue.....I love my Fords...all of them.

However, Ford is sucking hind tit at the moment. Their passenger car line is a joke in quality, apperance and performance. Their "legend marques", like the Thunderbird and Mustang, are underperforming and the Mustang, especially, looks like someone let their autistic three year old niece design it.

In the horsepower race, Ford is dead last of all domestics...save for the Lightning....which is a niche market. The "New Edge" styling took off like a lead balloon and, further, it does not help that Ford does not have any new designs coming out quickly.

Billy Ford needs to get it together and get it together quick....it's his name on the outside of the building, after all.

it's sad to say, but why else would they have such a lousy warranty? Are they afraid to stand behind the numer one selling truck a little longer? Or do door cracks, rough idling and piston slap prevent that........

Well they almost deserve it for producing such shoddy vehicles the last few years. My 94 Ranger I had was more reliable and better built than my old neighbors 93 T-100. My 01 F-150 Lariat is pure crap so far. Our 01 Taurus was a bad car. Not all that troublesome, just not a good car. It's a bummer when they have some of the best looking cars and especially trucks out there.

They will be fine when they get their ducks in a row. In the meantime, they will lose folks like my wife to Toyota and Honda.

I don't really foresee that happening, considering that under the Ford logo, there are many other brands that Ford owns....So that means all of their lines would have to go to crap. I personally think that they should take the Explorer, and combine it with the Land Rover, and make one kick butt SUV. Great selling vehicle that has the ability to actually go offroad, and have the ability to get you home. That is just me, but if they did that, I would be first in line to get one.
