1958 Plymouth Belvedere?

Engine availability included 318 V8 and the Golden Commando 350 V8 with fuel injection

the 300's "only" 140mph with their 353 hemis. i thought maybe the 312 Fords with factory paxton blowers, but was also told that the vehicle i'm looking for did not have a blower

i had guessed the 56 D500 which was labeled as "the fastest production car in the world, bar none" but was also told that it wouldn't do 150, and was not "Motor Trends" fastest

something that seats 6 adults, would have to be pretty big, and somewhat aerodynamic to do 150, with less than 360ci and no blower

I would say the Chrysler 300 M....nope 2 door

or...a Bucik Wildcat.

Chrysler 300 4-door 413 V-8 3-speed with 380 hp.

470 ft/lbs at 5200 rpm

Olds Rocket 88

Pontiac Starfire

My guess would be a 61 Chev with 409 motor.
Only Chev and Ford had OD trannies, not even sure if they had them in 61, but it had to be a Chev or Ford.

Don'y have a clue, but............

maybe the Sport Fury? It also played the leading role in what movie? I've always thought it was a cool car.

Bill, the 409ci is too big, are you sure about the trannys? that would narrow it down.

Jay, the Tucker was sleek, but topped out at 120mph

The Pontiacs were pretty quick in the late 50's/early 60s. I'm thinking it would have to be one of the NASCAR champions in that era.

The 64 Avanti R4 was rated at 335 hp. I found this site that has some interesting stuff on muscle cars http://www.cccvette.com/fast1.htm .
