Pop-up killers

What's the best software to use for eliminating those pesky pop-up ads?

There's a lot of "free" programs out there, but they usually only work for a certain length of time. If I'm going to purchase some software, I'd like to know which one(s) are a good buy and work the best.

Thanks.

Let me know what you think. I can't stand all those silly pop up's either so I know how you feel! Good luck!

Had some work done on my tower over the weekend and when I set it back up I got the free version of NetZero instead of the one I pay for. No big deal as they are discontinuing our service on the 30th. (They say it is too expensive to operate in my area yet they continued to bombard me with ads about their "gauranteed price till 2003") Wednesday I plan on purchasing a new provider service but in the mean time will that work for me? So freakin' annoying huh? Happy Holidays to all. ennis

try POW from www.analogx.com. It works great. It's very small, it's free, and it doesn't expire.

I use pop-up-stopper from www.panicware.com it kills all popups and if you want the pop up to work just hold down the control key and it will let it pop up.

I don't remember where I got it, but I have a program called PopUpKiller. Super program, sometimes works TOO well... but if it does (and kills something that's not a legit popup), you can easily go in and exclude that specific window from being killed.

Search for "PopUpKiller" on Cnet or Google, I'm sure you'll find it.

I too use the one from Panicware, works great. You can also just double click the icon in the system tray if you want to turn it off when you know that you are not going to be getting slammed with ads from a site.
