Red face

I'm a criminal justice major graduating in May 2002 Yipee!!! I have done about a dozen or more ride alongs with various agencies and also did an internship at a county sheriff's office last semester. I actually plan to go out "on patrol" tomorrow night with the guys from the S.O. where I did my internship. It's the friday before christmas, so it is bound to be interesting. I have seen alot out there, and am currently in the application process with the highway patrol, so this is only the beginning, there is alot more to be seen and experienced.

I have become pretty good friends with the community policing lieutenant in the area where my family owns rentals. It is an area rified with drug users, dealers and crime. My stepfather actually get to do buys for the drug task force. I have also given several crackheads that have done yard work for me to the task force to do undercover buys for them. It is a lot of fun. I get to meet the deep undercover guys that never wear uniforms. WE usually meet them in a vacant apartment with the lights out. It is just like a movie. Most of the members of the landlords association drive F-150 Lariats and we do community cookouts on streetcorners from time to time. WE also help each other evict drug dealers and other troublesome tenants. You should see these tenants faces when 20 or so F-150 Lariats show up at the door with a deputy to execute a "writ of possession". Everytime I drive by a bunch of gangstas on the streetcorner, they yell out "the' go the PO-lease". They think we are all cops.

It has improved the neighborhood so much, I have been offered twice what I paid for some of my properties. All the hard work has paid off, mostly for the good tenants. the good ones can go on vacation without a lot of worry now.
