Unhappy Gas Taxes

Today as I was filling up the the truck I noticed a brand new sticker on the pump saying how much I was paying in taxes on every gallon of gas I was putting into my truck the state tax was 21.4 cents every gallon and the FEDS get another 18.4 cents for a total of 39.8 cents of tax every gallon. TN has to one of the highest when it comes to paying tax on gasoline I think IL and CA are about the only 2 above TN when it comes to gas tax. So if you know what the gas tax is in your state post it here so we can see who is paying the most in gas tax.

In The Netherlands we pay 75% taxes on fuel.
That means from every $3.56/gallon $2.67 ends up in the pockets of our Government.
It is not the only tax we are paying.
Roadtaxes
Taxes on new cars 19%

Every time, the Government comes up with new plans and taxes.
To reduce the number of cars we have in Holland.
6,000,000 cars. Holland is twice the size of the state of New Jersey.
To spare the environment, they say.

Bull, it is just a way to increase the states income.

That is why we call our cars:dairy cows

To me, you guys are previleged.
I have never seen the gasprices that low in my whole life.

Yeah, I wonder that myself how I succeed to make a living.

I could tell you a lot more about how our system works.
To difficult for me to translate and so forth.
But If you ask me, you should be a dumb *** to work in this country.

Social security system takes up a lot of money.
The minority works to support the majority.

Well this is why I bought the truck, to write off the tax money.
I wanted something for my own, i work my butt off every day.
Scr=w those who just hold up their hands and draw benefits,do nothing at all day in day out, year after year.
Not to mention fraud of course.

And life is getting more expensive Jan 2002 when the Euro is going to be introduced.
1 Euro=2.20371 Guilder

Needles to say that prices are going up to have nice round figures.
It is forbidden to do this but stores already started to raise prices a few months ago.

What is your yearly mileage average? Do you drive as much as we do here in the States?

Mileage

No, I don't drive that many miles.
Since May 18 1999 17,875 miles.

Summary 1999-2000

I know your country is huge and you are driving long distances.
Holland is only 200x250 miles (+-) at the most.
