Good Luck with the finals, PhillipSVT.
If you go into public accounting you never know what kind of business you will come across. Having a general idea about a company's business helps when you are trying to sort out there books. So, at least pay a little attention during the general education classes. You never know when you might need the info.
Just my 2 cents (audited) worth of experience.

I'll never forget Graduation day. It was the end of the best nine years of my life. And even though it was only an associates, I knew that going full time was the best thing I did for myself.
Rauol,
What did you get your Associates in?....time management?
I agree with what was stated earlier. You never know what you will doing or where you will be working. I am glad that I paid attention in my business and accounting classes even though I am and engineer. I have used a lot of what I learned in college lately.
If you become an accountant for an engineering firm it would help to have a little knowledge as to what they do so pay attention in science classes.

I pay attention and do good in the classes, It's just not the funnest thing, like history for example, I have had around 9 years of it allready, kinda old. The other classes are neat to learn about things you have seen on vacation and such. I will probley run my own business, so I kinda know what is more important than other things.

The university where I got my engineering degree had a policy that if you had a good enough average (like 94%) or so going into the final, you didn't have to take it. For 4 years, that was my goal, no finals. In the end I only had to take 2 finals throughout the full 4 years (damn english and Pascal courses). Granted I probably spent more time studying total but overall I ended up better off and no one test dominated the grade (finals can be as much as 30% of a grade).
Oh well, glad I don't have to worry about that, and haven't for quite a few years.
