No, a comma is not needed after grammar and I do stand corrected on the spelling. Funny, originally had the 'a' there instead! Mainly I refer to the proper use of caps and letter inverting that is not corrected. Constructive criticism is always welcomed and appreciated. ennis :-) : --8

My first college roommate was really bad. We lived in a 12'x13' room and he managed to hide in there for half a week and I never knew he was there. My 2nd roommate was ok. We occasionally fought but he wasn't that bad of a roommate. I don't have a roommate right now so its kinda nice. Don't have to worry about somebody walking in in the middle of the night when the gf is over, like last night.

Phillip, I still live at home with my folks (I'm 21, saving up for a down payment on a house so staying at home is the best route) but I do have a sister who is 23 who also lives at home (simply because shes unmotivated to move out or do anything with her life) and sounds like the perfect match for your roommate! Maybe we could hook them up? LOL. No matter what your roommate stories are hers is probably worse.
She manages a blockbuster video and "steals" videos from work. Because she has so many and no logical place to put them all, she puts them in milk crates which she has stacked two deep, five to seven crates high. Add in the fact that she has about a minimum of 30 empty or half-full soda cans on her desk/dresser/bookshelves/floor/anywhere but the garbage at any time, that doesn't help. Add in that she can't get to the closet due to too many videos, but she still has the typical 23 year old female wardrobe which is conveniently strewn about the room in depths varying from about 7 inches near the door to over three feet deep in the corner. Her bed always has a wide variety of dirty clothes, old pizza plates, and soda cans. She once fried a monitor by spilling a soda on top of it and rather then cleaning it up just leaving it for oh about 3 months until someone noticed... by then the damage had been done. The carpet in her room hasn't been vacuumed in two years but thats ok because no one has seen the carpet in 25 years except the cat, who has a mysterious way of working through the mysteries of the clothes on the floor to find that one spot of carpet underneath the bed where it will occasionally urinate, but my sister is unable or unwilling to attempt to stop him or to clean up and chooses instead to simply bitch about the smell.
She at one point wanted to be a paramedic so she was going for her EMT. As a result she has textbooks mixed in with the piles and piles of clothes. She since has given up on that dream (managed to get hired as an EMT but was fired within two weeks for being incredibly unmotivated) but the textbooks, homework, etc. are still lurking in the room.
It has been suggested that a full force tornado could come in to the room, followed by a hurricane, and she would never notice. I agree. The one time she was actually talked into "cleaning" the room (I say talked into it, she was basically yelled into submission) it remained cleaned for about 30 minutes then was quickly back to the same way it was before.
As for the answer of how does she sleep on the bed with all the junk on it? Well rather then moving the junk off the bed in to the proper receptacle (trash can, hamper, whatever) she chooses instead to set them on her office chair while shes sleeping, then when she wakes up she moves it out of the chair on to the bed again. Seems a quicker method for this would be to throw away the garbage and wash the dirty clothes, but hey, who am I to judge?

Now, on the other hand, just one door down is my room. Everything is spic and span, clothes in hamper and laundered twice weekly. Bed made every morning before work. Chair tucked in behind the desk and all the pens/pencils on desk in the appropriate pen holder, all various "desk supplies" in appropriate drawers. The mass tanglement of wires for the computer (wires to speakers, scanner, printer, zip driver, digital camera, gps, power for everything) have been neatly taped and stored out of view. The "entertainment center" (tv/vcr/dcd/nintendo 64) is always dust free even if I am not using it, the walls and floors are clean and all clothes are hung in the closet with care.

How can we be so different? I choose to say that we are adopted. I have quite a case behind me. I'm 6' 8" and she is 5' 3", do I need more proof? LOL

Maybe next time I'm home I'll take some pictures of her room and post them to the net, just to prove I am not lying.

My roomate is always watching movies too, I bet he watches one every day, he's watching one right now. Sometimes if he has time in the morning before going to class he will put in a movie and start watching it... and he only has time to watch 5 minutes of it... what a waste, he could be doing something constructive like unloading the dishwasher like he never does. Sorry to hear about the jerk who gave you the door ding, I really PO's me to think that someone can be so inconsiderate that they won't respect someone elses vehicle when they are parked next to you.

Rambo, sound familure. My roomate normally doesnt go to class. When he watches a show on normal tv, he turns back and forth, every commercial. The door isnt to bad except for the dint that is vissable when the light hits, no scratch though.

Matt, I can look over and see the same pic you are describing in your post.

Ohwell, Thanksgiving break is about here and he already left about 30 min ago. Our room is about 10X15, so things get a little bit cramped for space.

Ooooo... Brings back memories. I didn't request a specific roommate my first year of college. Figured it was a chance to make a new friend and learn something about a person from another part of the country.

BIG MISTAKE!!!

Ended up with a roommie from my home town from a rival school. Guy was a JOCK. Played varsity football 3 years in his high school. My school and his school were huge football rivals. We were the champs, btw.

The guy was an absolute slob. No, make that P-I-G SLOB. People used to walk by our room and laugh. My side was always clean. His side? Well, he had to walk on my side of the room to get to his desk.

One day, he was walking around in a towel. Asked him how come. He said all his clothes were dirty and they were in the washers. 4 washers. LOL.

A few years later, his mom was one of my best customers. Talk about a sweet lady. When I got to know her and figured out her son was my frosh roommie, I nearly fell on the floor. You know the saying about how the apple never falls far from the tree? In this case, this apple fell and rolled clear across town and went splat right into a holding pond.

Yeah, back in the "old days" (God, I'm really getting old!), Willham North was all female and South was all male. Having a north-facing room on the 13th floor was a real treat! At least Kerr-Drummond seems to be the same. I've never even heard of the others.

I'd definitely try to get into the "newest" facility.

Hey nomo,
you need to come visit your old campus more often. they built some really nice dorms - look like apartments. Supposably, Willham is going to get knocked down. The first new dorms were built on the south side of Willham. and the other new university apartments/dorms were built off of McElroy. Much nicer than those old ones.

Phillip, there are worse roommates out there. I had one my freshman year when I lived in Willham. She got so drunk she tried to jump out a third story window of a frat house half naked. and the popcorn, it was all over the place. she started staying in someone elses room so I packed all her stuff up for her. there was candy stuck to the floor under her bed. then I moved to Iba. nice dorm, no visitation hours, and no roommate. and I no longer got nagged to go to the Weed.
If you plan on moving into a house or apartment I'll tell you which management offices to stay away from. I'm currently in renter's hell with my slumlords.
I've got a good roommate now. he's a good cook. but we end up at the grocery store and Hastings way too often.

hey nomo,
where did you live in Stillwater? I think we are about to move to Squire's Landing.

Yeah, I do need to get over there for a visit. We cruised "through" this past spring. Michele had never been to Joe's... so we stopped and got a burger. That's the closest we got to campus. Mainly went to see about camping at a couple of the "lakes" around there.

My first year at OSU, I stayed in Willham South. Just south of it was a neighborhood and a couple of Greek houses (all gone now?)

The next year, I stayed in some apartments across from Iba arena... is that Squire's Landing? Back then, they were pretty ratty, but it was fun because the managers were VERY cool.

Then, I got a cabin (#13) out at Lake Carl Blackwell. Froze my butt off that winter, but it was great being at the lake all year. Loved that HUGE fireplace.

My last year there, I stayed in some apartments that are about 5 blocks north of the football field. Seems that there was "creek" or "water" in the name, but I can't remember... too many nights at the 'weed.
